One of the worst food and customer service experiences I have ever had.
A group of 9 (mixed age groups, from kids to seniors) reso for 830pm, sat down and were told that we had to order soon as the kitchen was closing at 930pm, so we did as we were asked. A good 45 mins past and then we start getting told that certain dishes were not available, which is crazy that you are being told this 45 mins into waiting.
Half of the table that did get parts (not entire order but parts of it), the food was extremely bland.
But let’s go back to the 45 mins of us waiting and being told our order was not available or could not be made, they gave us no alternatives, seemed very disinterested to resolve the issue (actually they seemed disinterested the entire time we were there), and after asking speaking to the manager their solution was a 10% comp on the meal, which is embarrassing and rude, we paid the full amount.
I’m a pretty reasonable person, understand that shit happens, but do not waste your time or your money here.
Best part - after speaking to managers, and they walked us to the stairs, as we were walking down I heard them laugh. You would expect better, especially being a...
Read moreI have been blessed with amazing travel experiences. As a way to have fun and stay in communication, my international friends and I have been searching and evaluating the best Eggs Benedict on the planet. I had previously voted for a resort in the Seychelles but seriously had to rewrite my take on the very best. The new winner is Kosa at Kyoto’s Ace hotel. Their farm to table approach makes a perfect foundation for this delightful breakfast. I think the photos I took underscore the look of freshness. Cooked perfectly and served by a welcoming wait staff. Had to return for lunch another day where I continued to be impressed with the quality and freshness. As a vegetarian, the staff was super caring makIng sure they pointed out all my options. Looking forward...
Read moreFrom the moment I walked in until the moment I left, I felt like an important guest. The staff were absolutely amazing, friendly, professional, and attentive. They checked in on me at just the right times, offering water and refilling it with perfect timing, never intrusive but always thoughtful.
The environment was equally impressive. Relaxing, calm, and beautifully balanced l, visually, in sound, in scent, and in atmosphere. It was one of those rare places where everything just feels in harmony, making it the ideal setting to enjoy a meal.
For my food, I started with grilled vegetables. There was no salt, yet the flavor was incredible, grilled perfectly to bring out the natural taste. The chef paired them with a unique sauce made from cashews mixed with another element (possibly parsley), and the combination was amazing. I even asked about it, and the staff told me the chef enjoys creating his own special combinations, which I truly appreciated as someone who loves cooking and exploring flavors.
After that, I had the duck, and it was outstanding, soft, juicy, and cooked to perfection. It melted in my mouth without being overcooked or dry. The portion size was generous ,one serving could easily satisfy two people if you prefer a lighter meal.
The best part? Both dishes together were only ¥6,800, which felt like an incredible value for such high-quality food, impeccable service, and a peaceful atmosphere.
I left not only satisfied but wishing I could stay longer just to enjoy the relaxing environment. I absolutely recommend visiting Kōsa in Kyoto, for the food, the hospitality, and the overall...
