Went here for dinner as I live in the hotel that shares building with it. When I arrived, there were 2 female customers just about to be shown to their seat. The waiter most definitely saw me.
I noticed the sign by the entrance that tells you to wait in line by the entrance until you get taken to your designated seat, so I waited… and waited… and waited a bit more.
Then 3 locals arrived from the staircase leading to the restaurant, went straight past me and in to the restaurant and took a seat.
I waited another 2-3 minutes before I figured maybe I should follow their example. As I walk in I get eye contact with the waiter and he politely tells me to please wait outside. There were plenty of seats available inside.
I complied and waited another 2-3 minutes before I understood they had no interest in me. I just left and found another place to eat.
I understand a lot of places are not happy to serve foreign customers, so I wasn’t shocked, but I was nevertheless disappointed seeing as the hotel has an english advertisement and even a discount for hotel-customers for the restaurant.
So yeah. It wasn’t a shock to be rejected, but nevertheless I have to leave a 1 star review, just because its made to seem gaijin-friendly when it really isn’t.
If it wasn’t advertised in english by the hotel, I never would have left this review, as the experience of being rejected for being a foreigner is already common in Japan and is nothing new. But why pretend like you accept gaijins, then ignore them?

Read more1500 yen for lunch buffet is about normal. Food variety has salad, soup, pasta, lasagna, pizza, fried pork and fish, and rice. It's possible to get free flow soft drink for another 200 yen. The staff do communicate well, and quickly refill the food when it gets low.
Variety is small, and flavor is only a little above average. It's good for a one time visit to really fill your stomach, and I have no regrets about eating here though. But I don't think I'll come by again...

if you have such a complain, should go to ritz and pay 6,000yen for lunch buffet.
To me, this is one of the best place for the food, service and atmosphere.
