Stumbled upon this little gem leaving dinner and walking in, I got a great feeling by the place from my first impressions of the ambience and vibe. They’ll make everything but it’s a whiskey lover’s treat and if you want to try different spirits/drinks with a local twist on some classics. Seating does fill up quickly but it’s worth the wait. One bartender (Takeshi) and two barbacks (didn’t catch their names unfortunately) but between the three of them, they held the fort down and extremely hospitable/kind. My friends and I visited this bar on a whim due to its proximity to our lodgings while on vacation in Kyoto. It was an absolutely fantastic experience thanks to our bartender Nobu, who had a great sense of humor and even better suggestions for drink recommendations. He’s a master of his craft and was both professional and personable, contributing to the relaxed atmosphere of the space and ensuring we had a wonderful time. This is best bar for trying Japanese whiskeys and other local spirits, especially sake. He also carries various Scotch & American whiskeys. Nobu, the owner, was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and entertaining. On his menu, he offers to smoke snacks from the next door Family Mart.
