The rooms are a bit small, which can be an issue for some, but it was great for the price we paid.
All of the workers are really kind and all do their best to try and help when they can. They offered to help us make reservations at a spa, they helped us find certain services we were looking for, and they patiently communicated with us despite the language barrier.
The hotel itself is easy to find. It’s surrounded by a handful of very good, little restaurants. And it is within walking distance to a train station that can get you to Kyoto station.

Read moreThe room was clean and had pretty much what you need even though it was a little small. The bathroom was on an elevated platform so it took a fair bit of climbing up and down while getting in and out. I was with my mom who has weak knees so the elevated step wasn't ideal.
The location was about a 5 minutes walk from a train station, so that was convenient. However, this is not located in the "typical Kyoto" in that the surroundings are pretty modern buildings. In fact, it's a distance away from restaurants (about 10 mins walk) and attractions.

As two giant dutchies we felt a bit cramped so we decided to stay there for one night and moved out the next day.
