My wife and I came after seeing it on K-foodie meets J-foodie. Omakase with all the recommended sake and wine pairings. We finished with the mackerel simmered in sweet soy sauce, the favorite of Matsushige-san. As advertised, it was spectacular!
It wasn't just the mackerel either; every dish in the meal was perfect. I was blown away by the sauces that came with most of the dishes. These are the kind of rich-yet-subtle sauces you would find at a Michelin-starred French restaurant. Truly sublime. And the alcohol pairings were spot on.
Finally, the chef is incredibly kind and warm-hearted. He kindly explained to us the details of every dish when he was not intensely focused on making each one, and at the end of the meal, he came outside with us to give us a gracious sendoff. His wife also provided outstanding service. I left with a feeling of great happiness and contentment in my heart.
