Saga-Tofu Ine North Branch — Restaurant in Kyoto

so, we actually picked this place based on aesthetic alone. from the outside, it looked like a nice place to eat, and it was just that: a nice place to eat. nice view, clean, kind staff, and calming ambience overall. however, i'm not too sure on how i feel about the food. maybe i set my expectations too high or maybe it was just not up to par. i personally felt the food was a bit bland. we ate at 2 other places in the area which were not as presentable but definitely more flavorful. i dunno. maybe i'm missing something. but the only reason i'd come here again is to sit at the window and enjoy the view. of course, that would mean having to buy another meal... but ya. i wanna say something nicer since the staff were so polite but i cant say much about the food. safe...

Yuba tofu and yudofu are one of the local specialty of Arashiyama and so while I was researching the place, I came across this restaurant that serves those dishes. That's why I decided to go here on my next trip to Kyoto.

We went here by 5pm, and it's not crowded by that time. I ordered the Saga set, while my mom ordered the Arashiyama set. Every single dish is delicious and healthy, and what I love about it is their Kumiage Yuba. I suggest sitting by the window to enjoy your meal while admiring the view.

By the way, the Ine branch near Randen Arashiyama Station is under renovation. But the Ine Kita branch near the Snoopy Chocolat store is open. The restaurant can be reached either by bus or train, and is open until 7pm (Last order...

Very nice place right across from the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. The restaurant is quite big and we were lucky to come in at a quieter time (no queue and got to sit facing the window). The service was quick and staff were very friendly. We both ordered the wagyu rice box which was very tasty. The meat was extremely soft and came with an egg which made it all the better! We weren’t the biggest fans of some of the other pieces that came along with it (how eve this could be due to the fact that we weren’t sure when and how to incorporate them into the meal). We also ended up forgetting one of our bags and had to return the day after in hopes that it was still there. Luckily it was, and the staff were very quick to help us out. Nice...
