At the esteemed Yojiya Café in the heart of Arashiyama, Kyoto, I found myself enveloped in an ambiance where traditional Japanese flavors meet the art of dessert-making. The matcha cheesecake, a harmonious blend of subtle sweetness and the distinct, rich taste of matcha, was complemented perfectly with a dollop of creamy matcha ice cream, creating a symphony of flavors that was as indulgent as it was balanced.
Accompanying this was a slice of chocolate chiffon cake, light as air yet deeply satisfying with its cocoa-rich essence, each bite a whispered promise of bliss. The cappuccino, a masterpiece crowned with the iconic Yojiya face, was not only a visual delight but also a palate pleaser, with its robust espresso melting seamlessly into the frothy milk.
The presentation of each delicacy was a work of art in itself, marrying aesthetic allure with impeccable taste. Yojiya Café, with its tranquil setting and an unwavering commitment to culinary excellence, truly encapsulates the essence of Kyoto's renowned hospitality and artistic heritage. #YojiyaCafe #KyotoCuisine...
Read moreMy friend and I got the Bolognese and Carbonara pasta. Between the two, we both preferred the carbonara dish. I also got the macha parfait which was pretty good; would've liked it better if the mochi balls were smaller. The waiter who seated us asked which language would we be more comfortable with, English, Japanese, or Spanish? Which, cool, they can even speak some Spanish. Ordered food through a QR code/website. Pretty nice place. They can Really make it better by replacing the chairs or adding socks to the chairs to prevent screeching whenever the chairs are moved. Bathroom is shared with other stores nearby and is kinda outside; not as clean as other bathrooms and one toilet looked kinda moldy/spotty. No crepes at time of review. Went to Yojiya cafe in early...
Read moreGreat queuing system, pay at the machine then you get a queue number(the queue was announced in Japanese in my experience. We waited about 20-30 minutes for the matcha crepe, but it was really worth it! The crepe costs ¥750 (mini size would be ¥300) and inside the crepe, there were matcha ice cream, fresh matcha whipped cream, red bean paste, crunchy wafer and matcha mochi! Very yummy combination.
You can also shop for the cosmetics/skin care products while you wait.
