Tl;dr Overpriced, small Portions, dont go there if you want to eat good food or get sated. They charge you extra in the end.
Firstly of all, we wanted to have good, traditional pasta. Then we saw Stars`n Cacio. As we sat down everything seems nice and we were ready to order fresh pasta with a simple sauce. Everything on the menucard seem luxurious and perfected to the last detail. We saw the prices and knew it's going to be expensive. Nonetheless we decided to eat here.
We had 2 Cocktails for 3740 Yen and a bottle of still water vor 990 Yen. As we said expensive.
I decided to eat the "Bronze Rigatoni" with truffle. First of all, these were not handmade rigatoni, as said in the menu, the taste was just like bought rigatoni from the supermarket at home. Nothing had a slight taste of truffle, i thought they forgot it. The fun costed 3960 Yen. Not satisfied nor saturated. And most of all disappointed in the restaurant.
My Fiancée had the "Signature Lasagna" with wagyu. Delicious but a really small portion. In our opinion, you can't make lasagne bad. This fun costed 4950 Yen.
At last we shared the "Mamma's Rum Tiramisu". It was tasty, one of the better tiramisu we had in a restaurant. But still it costed 1980 Yen and the portion was still small.
In the payment process there was a 10% "Gratuity" Charge. So i was forced to pay 10% more as expected. As a European it shocked me. Never had I thought about a forced charge of a restaurant that was for my experience a disappointment. The food was okey and small. For homemade pasta you only had 1 variation.
I can't recommend this restaurant to others. Food was overpriced and small portions, the personal was friendly and the ambiente was dark (they dimmed the light and took the candles off the table)
When i could change my decision, i would go to another restaurant. They decided to make an over expensive restaurant and called it "luxorious" and "an...
Read moreWent to have dinner here with my wife and enjoyed the whole evening experience.
We are welcomed by the staffs and the owner Chef Andrea Ferrero and was assisted to our table. We sat at the Terrace to have a relaxing, homey feel, and enjoy the fresh breeze of the wind. The terrace is complimented by the plants, the furnitures, and wood works.
The interior inside the dining hall is absolutely gorgeous, the paintings made by Andrea himself is also in the resraurant which really shows that he is an aesthetic. Murano glasses from Italy can also be seen and the lampshades inside is imported. Plates are handpainted and imported aswell that it really separates this restaurant from the rest.
The food is of high quality, ingredients are coming from Italy and fresh produce is coming from all over Japan. I do understand the reason behind the price since they are not joking when they said "House of Quality". The new Risotto on their Menu is heavenly (always ask for the seasonal items). The Dry aged steak is my version of perfect just in my opinion since it is to my liking. Pastas are phenomenal. Burrata cheese with those cherry tomatoes paired with artisan sourdough bread😋😋😋😋 yum yum yum! Lasagna! The Tiramisu and chocolate cake is to crave for!!!! And also dont forget those amazing cocktails!!!!!
Honestly, i think i almost tried everything from the Menu and all did not disappoint, i am always amazed about the bursting flavors and different notes that tickles my taste buds.
The best Italian Restaurant in Kyoto!!!
Shout out to all the staffs for the superb hospitality and service.
Kudos to the team of Chef Andrea Ferrero!
