Business owners need to learn how to treat customers with respect.
Came to the restaurant at 8 PM and was very excited to try the food from all of the good reviews. Was told by the chef/owner to wait because the place is full and attached “full” sign. Then a party came out of the restaurant, we waited, after 10 mins the waitress came out fixing the “full” sign. Another 10min, another party came out. The chef came out, fixing the “full” sign again. Another 10 min, another party came out. Finally, the chef came out and gesturing to us that they sold out.
We wasted 30 mins waiting. Mind you by the time we arrived and another party of 2 just got seated and placed their order. Chef/owner should have known their inventory by then and communicated that they are closed or sold out. We have been cooperative and polite btw.

Read moreI recently visited Wakuwaku Toji with my family, and we had an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. It’s rare to find a place that offers such delicious meals at such reasonable prices.
What really stood out, though, was the level of care and attention we received from the owner ( I guess ). They were incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. It felt like they truly valued their customers.
The portions were generous, and we were able to enjoy a variety of dishes without breaking the bank. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for families. We left full, happy, and already looking forward to our next visit.
Highly recommend Wakuwaku for anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and great value....
Read moreMe and my partner came here to eat in April 2015 and I have been trying to find a place to leave a review. We came to Japan for 10 days and hands down this was the best place we ate in the entire time we were here. To put this in context we ate at the Grand Prince hotel in Hiroshima and at the Sky Restaurant 634 which is approx £100 per head and still the meal we had here was the best in our entire time on Japan. There were two very friendly Japanese ladies working when we went in, they were laughing and joking whilst working which was nice. the atmosphere was great, service was quick and the food was delicious. I can't wait to come back to Kyoto with my Daughter to show her this place. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. It is hard to find if you are a tourist as it is tucked away behind a tiny little door but if you ever get a chance...
