We really wanted to try a tofu restaurant in Kyoto and became aware of this restaurant because of the good reviews. After visiting the nearby temple, we went to the restaurant shortly before noon and were taken directly to a small, cozy room by the owner. She told us right at the beginning that she doesn't speak English, but that wasn't a problem thanks to a translation app. We opted for the lunch menu for around 3200 ¥. The food tasted excellent and consisted of five different components. We were particularly impressed by the sesame tofu and the yam with quail egg. Green tea was served with the meal, which rounded off the whole meal perfectly. It was definitely a special taste experience and we would come back anytime. The owner was very friendly and we felt very comfortable. We also found eating on the floor to be very pleasant and typical of Japan. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we can recommend this tofu restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy a unique and delicious meal in Kyoto.

This is a tofu Restaurant near the golden palace and worth a visit. The owner is a lovely old Lady, but she doesn't understand english, so keep your google translator ready, just as she does. We ordered the Set menu (lunchtime) for about 3000 Yen each, which consistet of tofu with some sauce and capers. A hot Pot with multiple pieces of tofu, Silk tofu, cabbage and other greens, vegetable tempura, some white slime with a raw quail egg (I have no idea what I ate) and some ginger Rice. The amount of food for this price was astonshing. We were sat at a small traditional japanese room with tatami mats on the floor and the old Lady served us green tea multiple times. If you want the tradional japanese dining experience with a small Budget and are okay with a vegetarian meal, this is the perfect Restaurant
