Bird — Restaurant in Nagano

Really great evening with a friend. Relaxed atmosphere, food cooked Infront of you at the kitchen behind the bar, and a great pacing to enjoy drinks, and steady ordering of food.

We had the cheese and meat selection, with local baked bread, a seasonal vegetable platter and salad that was offered, and then the friend pork hot pot, shared between the two of us. Some of the best pork I've had in a while. The party next to us ordered the seasonal buri fish, which looked amazing, and the duck which we couldn't order unfortunately as it has run out. Will have to come back!

The menu is a selection of seasonal foods, European / Japanese fusion, and going really well with the selection of natural wines on offer. Beer available too, and we finished the evening with some local gins from the area.

We first stopped by Bird without a reservation and, even though the place was full, we were warmly welcomed to stay for a glass of wine. The wine was excellent, and the owner even suggested other spots nearby where we could eat. That kindness made such an impression that we came back the next day with a reservation. The food was absolutely incredible – the venison stew, the beef main, and the pork main were among the best dishes we’ve had here, full of depth and flavor. The wine paired beautifully again, and the whole experience felt special. On top of that, the owner runs everything herself, which is truly impressive. ワインと食べ物のマリアージュがすごい…！相乗効果で美味しい名店。地元の方曰く、事実上予約必須。善光寺からも近いので、観光客の方にもお勧めです。

休日18時に予約して伺いました。 お店が開いたのは18時を少し過ぎた頃。 早めに行く必要はないかと。

【食べたもの】 えのきのマリネ　¥300 鯖のくんせいとじゃがいものあたたかいサラダ　¥900 ワカサギのアヒージョ　¥1300 牛もも(和牛)ステーキ　¥3000 ワイン×4 ¥9400

食べログの分類では「ワインバー」ですが、食事もしっかり頂けます。 ワインビストロといった感じ。 ビールも1種類だけあるのと、ソフトドリンクも一応あります。 ただ、お店のインスタで「ワイン以外はほぼございません」と投稿されていて。 ワインを飲まれない方を歓迎する雰囲気は多分…ないかな。 実際、飲まれていない方はいらっしゃいませんでした。 その点は注意です。

でも、何を食べても、何を飲んでも美味しい(´ω`) ワインのセレクトが良いのはもちろん、食事単体の美味しさももちろん、マリアージュでどちらもさらに美味しく感じます。 お勧めで色々持ってきていただくのがお勧め。

見るに常連の方が多く、接客の差はめちゃくちゃあります。 また、そこそこ席数はあるもののワンオペゆえ、時間はすごくかかります。 低評価になる可能性はそこにありそうです。 なんだけど、悔しいな…あまりに美味しくて(^_^;) 細かいことには余裕で目をつぶれてしまいます。

夜はこちらに行く、と近くのカフェでお話ししたら「それは間違いないですよ…！」と太鼓判を押されたんです。 仰る通り、間違いなかったです！
