If only I could rate the shop negative for all three aspects! DO NOT GO!
Service was beyond horrible. As my parents were using the tablet issued to our table, I decided to use the tablet from the opposite table, just to view to menu. A service staff (bulkier build) came over behind me and snatched the tablet from my hands, and said that I could only order from the tablet issued to the table (pointing to the one my parents were holding). I tried to explain in English (and gesturing as well), that I was just looking through the menu. He, however, continued to raise his voice at me, and walked off to put the tablet back in the opposite table, before I could take out my cellphone to translate my intention.
I decided to just take the tablet again, to continue viewing. And within seconds, the tablet was locked, and I couldn’t view anything.
I was furious, and decided to confront the particular staff in question. So, in preparation of a language , I used a translator to translate “I just wanted to view the menu. Is there a problem with that?”. I walked to the counter and wanted to speak to that particular staff. However, another staff, who was smaller build, came to attend to me. And I showed him the translated message. He was apologetic and proceeded to unlock the tablet.
Food arrived (I ordered the garlic oil pork ramen), and it was horrible. Broth was overly salty, the meat was cold. And the ajitama egg was beyond disappointing. It was close to being a hard boiled egg, instead of a runny yolk.
To the owner/branch manager of this restaurant, please educate your staff! Snatching the menu from a customer, and raising his voice!! I’ve never seen such poor service, and a Japanese chef who can’t even cook a proper...
Read moreI stumbled upon this place during a quiet Tuesday afternoon, right after a three-day holiday. I’m traveling with my dog, so being able to sit outside worked out perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The highlight for me was the beer with a thin layer of ice on top, which was just perfect and so refreshing. This place felt like an oasis in the middle of a slow afternoon. Highly recommend it if you’re...
Read moreDidn't expect to find good Kyushu-specialty Hakata ramen in soba country, but here it is and it's great. English menu is helpful for figuring out topping options (Burnt garlic oil? Yes, please.) and also for ordering noodles to the firmness you want -- I thought I'd prefer them firm, but it turns out that normal is more my speed. They also do noodle refills (kaedama) for a hundred yen, just flag...
