This liquor store/beer patio is a must visit!!! The perfect place to stop by for a drink. You can order beers, sake, wine, and much more. Prices are very good (really good value). Located right across from Gangoji Temple and about 10 mins from Nara Park or a 15 min walk from JR Nara Station. The owner is fantastic - very friendly and nice. Snacks are available.

The liquor store sells local sake and has a great selection of alcoholic beverages.

Store hours are: Weekdays (Monday to Friday) - 2pm to 7pm Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) - 10am to 7pm Please note that store hours can vary.

One of my favourite places for a drink...

Fourth time coming here, and this has been one of our favorite places in Nara and hands-down the best bar we have been to in Japan. The family owners are sweet people and know an incredible amount about sake. The shop is well stocked and even has a large selection of Japanese whisky (and gin). While most people only come in to purchase bottles, you can also pull up a stool and try rotating local/select sakes for only 250 or 300 yen. Pours are generous and selections are interesting. Every time has been a reliably great experience....
