Pe Loncho — Restaurant in Nara

Our first and only disappointment in Japan. Everything looked promising but upon ordering we were informed that the steak we wanted to go for had to be ordered days in advance. This is rather difficult if you are in Nara for a day trip. Other reviews and the signage in the restaurant inform you about the long wait for the steaks but there was no word about it from the waiters. Regarding that wait, it was meant to be 25 minutes for a good tasting steak but we ended up waiting for more that 1.5 hours, went through two rounds of drinks and the sides that arrived before the steaks until we got our mains. The steak itself did not warrant the wait. Looking at the plates we received we couldn’t figure out where the time went. As for the steak itself, I am sorry to say I have had much better. Finally, the reason for this review is that this is the first time in my life where I have been invited the leave an establishment after I have paid the bill which mind you was 23.5k yen for 2.5 rounds of drinks for four people, four steaks and four sides. I finished in this restaurant by casualty, cause I was hungry and I was just passing around. Since I entered the restaurant they treated me like a local, you can tell they treat you like that genuinely and not cause it is part of their job.

I was at the first hour when they opened, they offer some lunch menu and it's super cheap for what you are getting for. This was our first time trying teppanyaki-style hamburgers, and we’re glad we chose this restaurant. The meat was incredibly juicy, and the sauce was perfect. We ordered one version with bacon and one without. We recommend trying the plain version to fully appreciate the original flavors, as the bacon has a strong, smoky taste.
