Tatsuwo, Osaka – A Must-Visit Dining Experience
During our stay in Osaka, we had the pleasure of dining at Tatsuwo not once, but twice – and for good reason. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a blend of traditional Japanese charm and modern touches. The food? Simply exceptional.
From the moment you sit down, you’re treated to an incredible range of dishes that highlight the freshest ingredients. The sashimi was perfectly cut, with the fish practically melting in your mouth. Their grilled dishes were packed with flavor – particularly the grilled fish, which was seasoned to perfection and cooked just right. The chef's attention to detail really shines, whether it's in the presentation or the balance of flavors.
Tatsuwo also offers an impressive sake selection, perfectly complementing the food. The staff is friendly and attentive, making the entire experience feel special and personal.
If you’re in Osaka and looking for a place that offers authentic Japanese cuisine with top-notch quality, Tatsuwo is not to be missed. It was so good, we just...
Read moreExcellent and authentic Izakaya restaurant that I stumbled upon by accident while strolling around. If you're looking for an authentic, non-touristy Izakaya experience I can highly recommend it! The food was really tasty, everything freshly prepared and very flavourful. Tazki (the owner and chef) creates his own menu and doesn't only serve the most typical dishes that you know as a Westerner, so it was really interesting to try. The menu is only in Japanese, which adds to the authenticity for me and isn't an issue with google translate. I had shrimp and vegetables tempura. Another fried chicken dish with an amazing sauce on top, which was so tasty! And also some egg omelette and a beef, white reddish sort of stew. Tazki was such a great and fun host, I had a great dinner with him and the other guests with plenty of sake and umeshu, even though I don't speak Japanese and they spoke little English. Thank you for this...
Read moreIt’s amazing to taste the food prepared by the young Japanese chef! I thought he learnt his chef skills overseas because the dishes were out of this world delicious! I would recommend it to be in the Michelin guide!
As a Izakaya place, he has amazing sashimi, very fresh melt in your mouth cuts. His knife skill is better than a lot of sushi restaurant.
Salted duck blew my mind too! The texture and taste is incredible.
Mapo Tofu was another hit! I was so touched by this dish, his home made tofu was soft, silky and chewy, perfect in the mapo sauce.
We let him curated all the dishes for us and were very impressed!
Sake that he chose for me was also so smooth!
This is by far, the best Izakaya we had in Japan!!
Thank you for welcoming us and communicate with us through Google translate.
