We stumbled upon this small Izakaya when the neighboring Michelin Bib Gourmand spot was full, and it turned out to be our lucky find! The atmosphere inside was fantastic, with locals trying their best to chat with us despite the language barrier, even helping us pick some sakes from the extensive menu. The restaurant is run by a family—father, mother, and son. The father is from the Aomori region, and all the sakes are carefully selected from there, served generously. The son speaks excellent English and is just a really cool guy. The food was fantastic, but it was the authentic, fun experience that really stood out. It felt like we made friends, and we were very sad to leave! Best regards from Germany—we hope to visit again!

Family-run (we were served by mother, father and son) and a very local experience - we were the only tourists, but they were soooo friendly and happy to host us. Menu is all in Japanese (Google Translate works great, and the staff do speak English). Enjoyed gyoza, yakitori, sake, etc. Cosy interior, sitting up at the counter 👌🏻 Total bill for 2 people inc. drinks = 2800 JPY, so very reasonable.

The best izakaya we’ve had in Japan. We managed to get by with no English menu and used google translate - the host speaks some English and was super friendly and helpful. We had excellent sake from the Aomori prefecture. Food was delicious; gyoza, ham katsu, miso scallop and pork rib were all excellent. Hope we have time to come back. We had 7 drinks and total was under 7000 yen.

More detailed review further down but this was one of our most memorable meals on our trip.

We went for our final dinner in Japan after a 2 week trip.

We had been recommended an izakaya, but we hadn't been during our stay so we decided we would go the last evening. This was close to our hotel, and had received good reviews from other visiting customers and the food looked more diverse than other places nearby.

We had a great time. The staff was super friendly, even if their English was limited they made sure to explain everything as best as they could to us and we managed to communicate well with English only, and Google translate. Do note that this restaurant only accepts cash, and since it was our last dinner we didn't have very much we restricted our time and what we ordered.

It is a family run restaurant, and the atmosphere was the best we had, we talked to the daughter of the owner who was sitting next to us and we had a drink together.

Would highly recommend it if you are looking for a local...
