Kani Fugu Kaniyoshi Namba — Restaurant in Osaka

Probably our favorite meal in Osaka - but obviously you need to like crab (and snow crab in particular). Unlike most snow crab in the states that is frozen and pre-cooked, their crab is fresh and thus can be served in many different ways. We ordered the “tasteful snow crab package” (Google translated) and it was 8500 yen pp. Note that there were many more expensive options that included more exotic items like puffer fish and king crab but I think this is the one to get.

Includes a variety of styles served one at a time including: sashimi (like a sweet shrimp) dipped in an raw egg soy mix, grilled/steamed, crab tempura, an crab egg custard, a shabu-shabu crab pot which is then turned into a delicious porridge and ice cream dessert. We also opted for the 2000 yen pp all-you-can drink for 90 min which include beer, wine, sake, whiskey high balls and soft drinks. We left quite full and it was good value for the money.

Ended up at this place because the more touristy Kani Doraku was fully booked for days, but left very happy...

I had a fantastic dining experience at this kani (crab) and fugu (pufferfish) restaurant in Namba. The dishes were incredibly fresh and flavorful, showcasing the best of Osaka’s seafood offerings. The crab was sweet and tender, and the fugu sashimi was delicate and expertly prepared—an unforgettable treat!

The ambiance was casual and comfortable. However, there were a few people smoking at the table next to mine, which was a bit distracting. It would be even better if the restaurant had a designated non-smoking section to ensure a more comfortable experience for all guests.

That said, the exceptional food and attentive service more than made up for this minor inconvenience. I highly recommend this restaurant to seafood lovers visiting Namba—you won’t be...

Although the dish is delicious, we have no reservation this time, the reception still could let us in at 21:30, front door shows still open til 12:00 but after we ordered the food, they served very fast even I haven’t finished most of the food including the hot pot, they serve me the dessert (ice-cream) and just give me the receipt to let me check and check the bill. Everything just in a hurry and I don’t even have time to taste. Staffs seems rushing to off from work and push the customer to leave as early as they could. If the shop couldn’t well-serve. Why still let us in. I rather want the receptionist say couldn’t server customer with no reservation.

Very bad experience and don’t want to try it again I will find another shop to have delicious crabs in Namba instead of this...
