Their specialty is miso ramen and it shows. they serve a wonderful bowl with a flavorful soup that full of spices and miso that is just right with their noodles that are made on site. We had their specialty Kinoaburi which is made from Hokkaido Miso that has been aged 3 years that has been roasted with spices, almonds, and white wine. So why am I knocking a star off? I also had a great bowl of spicy miso tsukemen. The texture of the noodles are fantastic, a nice bowl of miso soup is provided for dipping noodles. It is common for most tsukemen places to add hot soup to your dipping sauce at the end of your meal as well as hot stones to reheat your soup as the cold noodles bring the soups temperature down. Unfortunately this store offers neither and therefore would be inappropriate to give a full five starts. But, this is a miso ramen specialty store and highly recommended this place. The store layout is made for pairs so if you come with a party larger than that be prepared as you may have to site separately or with a barrier in...
Read moreMy partner and I came in for dinner at 6pm on a Friday and dont know how or why this place wasn't busy.
Off the top, the food here is amazing.
The specialty here is Miso Ramen, focusing on utilizing high-quality miso for the ramen broth base. For 16.50 USD, or about 2500 YEN, we got the Samurai Ramen and the Spicy Miso Ramen. We split the katsu and special chashu on the samurai ramen due to the enormous portions they offered.
The Samurai Ramen uses a 100 year old miso from Hokkaido, and you can instantly taste the immense depth of umami coming from the broth. I thought it was kind of a gimmick when reading the description, but I was thoroughly impressed when I had my first sip of the Ramen broth.
The staff here is immensely kind and hard working. Despite my inability to speak Japanese, they were very kind and patient with me as I tried to understand the menu and also provided suggestions for my meal.
I would highly recommend a stop at this restaurant if you...
Read moreLast year, I visited Osaka and before returning to Taiwan, I wanted to have a final Japanese cuisine meal. So, I chose this ramen shop. We weren't actually hungry, but we just wanted to have one more meal. I believe many others might feel the same way. Normally, when it comes to ramen, I think of tonkotsu ramen. I'm not usually adventurous with my food choices, but this shop only had miso ramen (or maybe a few other non-miso options, I can't quite remember). However, I was genuinely amazed by the flavor of their miso ramen. It left a lasting impression on me.
I'm planning to visit Tokyo again this year, and I specifically searched for branch locations, but this shop isn't a chain. I'm just an unfamiliar Taiwanese person when it comes to Japanese cuisine, but I wholeheartedly recommend this ramen shop. If you're like me and want to make some memories before getting on a plane, maybe you should consider trying the same...
