Best hidden gem from our visit to Osaka. Staff was super welcoming and friendly. Smiles all around including the customers, all you could hear was good conversation and laughter. Despite our 5-word Japanese and their friendly English, they put an effort to make it work. They even dug out an old menu with some comments in English, that really helped us not to guess as much what we were ordering.
The food was amazing, the best. Perfectly timed to our pace. From the wasabi sushi and tuna sushi to tonkatsudon and to clam miso. The croquette was just perfect. Also, by seating at the bar, we could see first hand all the amazing food going to other tables.
This was the exactly the non-tourist experience we were looking for.
My only two regrets were not having a second stomach to eat more and to only finding them on my last day in Osaka. Don't make the same mistake I made, go there on your first day.

Read moreI'd say if it was only the food maybe I would give 3 stars since it's pretty typical izakaya quality, but I like the energy of the staff and the food doesn't disappoint in terms of betraying expectations. Service is fast and they're pretty good on social distance seating. They also sell ready to go lunch outside on the ground floor.
