At dinner time this place was packed, but the line to order moved rapidly and within 10 minutes we could order. It is possible to order through a regular cashier or with a touch screen, which is my preferred way.
For this time, I ordered a single ShackBurger and a Chocolate shake for take out.
After ordering though, we had to wait more then 20 minutes for the food to arrive. You do get a little numbered device to tell you when your order is ready, which is good, but the wait time was a little on the high side for a fast food place. I imagine there are better times during the day on which the food are delivered more quickly, but expect long wait times if you come to have dinner.
The burger itself was very tasty. Good amount of spices in the meat and a very soft bun. One of the better fast food cheeseburgers I have had. I’d say the burger here at Shake Shack in Osaka was a lot better then the one I had in New York, but I don’t know if it is a good comparison.
Was the burger worth the 30+ minute total wait time? I’d say yes and recommend you to get a burger at Shake Shack if you are ever around Universal...
Read moreI love shake shack, I moved to a place that doesn’t have one, and I’ve missed it, so I was pumped when I saw it closed as I walked to universal in the morning. It was open in the evening and for once that day I didn’t have to stand in an endless line. With the exchange rate from USD I got a feast for about $25. They also have small sizes which I wish US locations did—a little shake, smaller fries.
I tried the seasonal or local special chicken sammich—pass on that, the chicken had a weird texture, and not in a good way. It was sort of crunchy and made a weird noise when I bit into it.
The burger was standard shake shack and very good. I don’t think they use the typical potato buns, the buns are more like McDonald’s but they still melt in your mouth pretty well. The fries were fantastic—the US should do whatever they do here. They are crispy and melt in your mouth. The cherry lemonade was good and they made it without ice, as I asked. The coffee shake was good, similar to the taste at other locations.
The ambience is bright and popping—the most lively shake shack I’ve...
Read moreMy friends and I stopped by here at 7:35pm on a Wednesday night after a FULL day at universal studios.
You can order at tablets to the left when entering. It is cashless payment only. There are buzzers by the tablets. You pick one and enter the number before you order; that is how you are notified your food is ready. I got a single burger with only cheese, fries, and a strawberry lemonade - fifty fifty that came up to ¥2134 (about $14). I guess that’s normal for a theme park lol.
My friends got smokestack burgers with cheese fries and strawberry lemonade. They said the shack sauce taste different here than US.
My food was ready 6 minutes after I placed the order. The burger and fries were delicious!!! Fries had the perfect crisp and my burger had the grilled taste that I love for my burgers to have.
There is a condiment section where you can get ketchup and mustard in a cup. They also have napkins, straws, etc. I wish they had bbq sauce, as that’s my favorite condiment. They played pop music and the atmosphere was fitting! It was an enjoyable meal...
