Shinsen Sakaba Sushiyanen Honmachi Branch — Restaurant in Osaka

Visited on 28th Sept around 10pm.

I know it’s a weird time for sushi and the store was already empty of customers at this time. But we heard great reviews and wanted to try.

It did not disappoint.

Ordered the Uni sushi with scallop, tuna sashimi. Sashimi is big, sweet and thick. It tastes fresh enough and the staff did his best to accommodate since this was not on the menu.

The Uni sushi is good but a little hit and miss. Some sweet and some slightly fishy but for the price, I’d say it’s worth it. Probably because it’s not the right season.

We were looking for late dinner and came across this restaurant nearby my hotel. It’s look like sushi izakaya style restaurant. Great service from the staff, staffs are friendly, they can speak English very well so it made me very comfortable eating here. We ordered the 8 assorted sushi, the sushi is big with the big cut meat, and we also ordered unagi and fried octopus. Everything tastes nice and fresh and match well with sake 👍🏻 price...

After a long day in USJ and just footsteps away from our hotel (Tokyu Stay), my partner and I could not ask for more. Simple, direct, accommodating and good quality sushi for a fraction of what you could find in Dotonburi area.

There is also an English menu and the sushi chef spoke great English. I regret finding it on my last day in Osaka. This would have been my meal everyday.
