This restaurant “Suan Bua” has the perfect location. As soon as you enter the hotel, it’s the very first thing you see – the “face” of the place, the spot that makes you think, “Oh, maybe I’ll eat here.” It’s basically the hotel’s showcase.
So there I was, arriving for lunch. The time: 11:00 sharp. A bit early, sure. So I politely asked, “Can I have lunch now?”
The answer came with a half-smirk: “It starts at 11:30.” And then, just to spice things up, he added, “Sorry.” Sorry-but-smiling-in-a-condescending-way – quite an advanced technique, really. Perhaps this was his idea of a new customer service style: “Hospitality with a pinch of mockery.”
Of course, I get it. People have off days. Maybe 11:00 felt inconvenient. But when you are the face of the hotel, every word and every smile defines the guest’s impression. And in this case, the impression was clear: my existence didn’t matter much. I’ve been here before on business and was treated fine, but as an ordinary guest, I was left with the thought: “Never again.”
And now the happy ending: I went straight to the Indian restaurant in Takashimaya instead. It was glorious. The smiles were genuine, the curry was healing, the naan was comforting. “Spicy yet kind” – that’s what hospitality (and food) should feel like.
Conclusion: This restaurant may be the first thing you see when entering the hotel, but the real exit leads directly to Indian food at...
Read moreI attended the Christmas Eve lunch buffet on December 24th and would like to share my experience. The hotel is beautiful, with an excellent and convenient location in the heart of Osaka, ideal for those visiting the city for sightseeing. Additionally, the parking lot next to the hotel, although not owned by the hotel, is very convenient for guests.
What truly created a wonderful atmosphere at the venue was the performance by the gospel singers, who were outstanding and added a special touch to the event. Their performance was definitely the highlight of the experience and made all the difference in the ambiance.
On the other hand, the food quality left much to be desired, especially considering we’re in Osaka, a city famous for its exceptional cuisine. Compared to other 5-star hotels, like Conrad and Intercontinental, the buffet didn’t reach the same level of excellence. The dessert buffet was reasonably good, being the most interesting part, especially for children.
Overall, the hotel has great potential to offer a complete experience with its pleasant atmosphere, convenient location, and special events like the gospel performance, which was truly memorable. I hope they can improve the food offerings...
Read moreSaw in instagram about their lunch buffet & decided to try these day. Reserved a table at 1230 noon but arrived early about 1215 noon . Lead to our seats & begin with the Thai buffet . Was surprised some of the foods have already dried ups . I am sure they are using good materials for the dishes but if they can't control their food temperature , it will not be good . Some of them looks so dry & unpalatable . For a buffet lunch that cost 6500 yen ++ , its not really worth the money . Only thing i appreciate about the buffet is they have some fruit juices & coffee included . I wouldn't say the food was good . Probably they wanna make the som tum as unique as what the Thai people had , they could reduce the spiciness of the chili they use in it . As an Asian , I couldn't stand the spiciness of the som tum salads & left some on plates . Not much of varieties of foods on buffet eventhough they have French , Thai , Italian & Japanese cuisine . Maybe should reduce the many cuisines & make more varieties of...
