Wonderful experience and highly recommended to try out some Japanese whiskeys (disclaimer: I am a novice to whiskies, so this is not from the perspective of a whiskey connoisseur!). Very conveniently located, unlike the Suntory Yamazaki distillery. Got there within an hour after opening and was able to get a table without reservation, but the place was already very busy and was shortly packed full. Seemingly attracts a lot of business people or work outings, and interestingly no other foreigners there at the time we visited. But the menu had English and staff were able to communicate in English if needed as well.
The main Japanese whiskey tasking is ¥2400 which I thought was a good price for the experience and environment. They had a "classic" whiskey tasting for under ¥2000 as well. Service was fantastic, and matched that of a higher end restaurant.
Yes, the food cost is on the higher side. But considering the affordability of the drink tasting in my eyes, this was not a sore point for me. We ordered a few small dishes to share. I do recommend trying the beef katsu sandwich! Looks and tastes great.
Before going into the restaurant, there is a display with some information and history of Suntory whiskey. However, if I recall correctly, it was only...
Read moreI had this bookmarked since we were not able to get tickets for factory tour - where you can actually buy bottles of whiskey and gin. FYI- you can't buy a bottle of liquor here but can taste the amazing samplers available.
Didn't realized it was in same mall as Intercontinental Hotel where we based ourself in Osaka, which is a plus since I got to do two tasting of whiskey and able to dine with the family for dinner.
Dinner was surprisingly great. The food quality and taste was great. We had the Waygu sandwich and grilled A5 Waygu. Surprising the mackerel dish with mushroom was delicious. Make sure to make room for dessert- freshly made soufflé cake.
The cocktails were really good, even my wife had two.
the service was impeccable. A little Japanese did help but they are very attentive. Many locals go after work and hang out from noticing the crowd.
They have a shop in the front that closes by 7 pm- able to get some glasses souvenirs as well.
Highly recommend- I know there are a lot of...
Read moreVery good food, super service and a great location. Actually 5 out of 5 stars. But my girlfriend and I went to Osaka for a day during our holiday in Japan and reserved a table in Germany to try the great Japanese whiskies. We wanted to try the Hibiki 21, Hakusha 18 and Yamazaki 18. It was also still on the menu. When we got there, we were told that the 3 whiskies were sold out... I was very disappointed, and this was also the case with 2 other whiskies... (in addition, another customer had a full bottle of Hibiki 21, probably a regular...)There were then mainly only standard whiskies that were also available in Germany... but that's not why I go to such a restaurant/bar. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I would ask you to keep your whisky menu up to date in future. There are people who travel a long way and then it's a shame. Nevertheless, it was a great evening and we drink some...
