なまら屋 — Restaurant in Sapporo

Visiting Sapporo. Given the great reviews this restaurant had received we decided to go here. We do not speak Japanese, the staff do not speak English. There is a menu in English but ordering has to be done via QR menu. The English option on the QR menu did not work. Ordering was slow. Service was slow. Other people, all Japanese, appeared to get their food a lot quicker than us. We had to ask (via Google translate) for the rice portion of the seafood hot pot to be delivered. The hot pot was disappointing for the ¥2,960. 3 large prawns, 4 oyster, 6 clams and 2 whelks plus cabbage 🙁. The Famous Hokkaido Zangi, fried chicken, was not very appertising. Of the 6 pieces we each ordered, we both ate only 4. For the ¥11,418 that we spent we were left feeling very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant to people that do not speak Japanese. The place is filled with Cigarette smoke smell just like a lot of Izakaya joints in Japan. We were told to scan QR code and order online in Eng language but turns out there’s only jap language so the waitress helped us took our order. After some difficulty in communicating we finally got our orders done. 名物北海道ザンギ、蟹ぶっかけ出汁巻き卵、カツオのお刺身、葉わさび、ガリとねぎの胡麻油和えと何か一品を注文しました。

名物北海道ザンギですが、若干ニンニクの香る唐揚げで、衣がガリガリで固く、私が一番好まないタイプの唐揚げでした。 大きさ的にはもも肉を4等分した位の大きさで結構ボリュームがありますが、ジューシーさが殆どないです。 名物北海道ザンギ星2

その他、レモンサワーがカラオケボックスにある様な甘ったるい内容で、飲める代物ではありませんでした。

QRで注文するタイプなのは別にかまいませんが、よくセッションが切れたり、QRの読み取りに何度も失敗したりとフラストレーションがたまりました。
