The best. In a street lined with Ramen shops and a busy atmosphere, it was nice to walk into this small shop, get a ticket from the machine and sit.
There is only one chef, who you can see works very hard. He takes your ticket and makes your ramen in front of you, fresh.
I've had the privilege of being able to travel throughout Japan quite extensively, and I personally felt like this was one of the best ramen dishes I've had. I chose the miso, it says recommended or popular on the ticket machine, and my partner chose another dish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
There are around 7 seats in total, so it's a small and quiet place. For me personally, that was even better as I think it's nice to escape the bustle of the city.
If I visit Sapporo, I will definitely come back.
To the chef, thank you for sharing your skill of ramen with us. Thank you for your kind hospitality. We can see you work very hard and it shows, and I truly hope you feel happy and blessed with everything in life considering how hard you clearly work for your job/passion.
I hope to come back again someday. Wishing...
Read moreI tried the Miso Butter Ramen here and it was honestly one of the best bowls of ramen I’ve ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with the butter, and the noodles had just the right texture.
The shop itself is cozy and comfortable, making it a great spot to enjoy a hearty meal. Ordering is done through a vending machine, which makes the process very easy and convenient, even for first-timers.
What really stood out, though, was the owner. He is the sole chef and staff, and despite being busy, he warmly guided us through the ordering process and made us feel very welcome. His friendliness added so much to the overall experience.
If you’re visiting Ramen Alley in Sapporo, I highly recommend stopping by Ramen Gantetsu Yokocho. I’m definitely looking forward to...
Read moreI’ve been to Japan many times. I am by no means a Ramen expert, but I’ve had it many places. This is exceptional. The food was excellent. You could tell walking in that it would be. The shop is immaculately clean, including the counter and the cooking area. The chef was friendly and inviting. Despite working nonstop and with a line outside, he managed to find time to clean every station between each customer. Which may sound obvious, but which is not always done. It speaks to his attention to detail and his investment in his shop and his image, and this all shows in his food. And the wait time was less than other shops in Ramen Alley. Which is a shame because this one...
