Basement bar - always mixed feelings about these- in the Sheraton's case it sort of works, in part because there is nothing else in walking distance.
First the downside which is being in Japan much of the bar is open to smoking - seriously in 2024 how this happens is hard to fathom.
The plus side is a warm atmosphere, wonderful service.and great drinks. The space is split into a series of small rooms and a larger L shaped bar
Interesting blend of cement walls and fabric wallpaper with soft lights and hardwood floors. Not sure I'm a fan of the elevator music but it's unobtrusive enough to slide by. One downside of the hard-walls is the sound carries. In 90 minutes I learned more about Idaho from the next room than I would ever care to know
Service is discreet and almost white glove.
The bar menu is extensive, most customers seem to favour hard spirits with an extensive selection of whisky (single malt and Japanese ) with the obligatory range of cocktails. There is wine and some craft beer but I didn't observe anyone partaking.
The chef must be bored as didn't see one person eating in the entire time I was there.
Convenience, style, relaxation all great. Can't really get along with the smoking personally.
