兄夫食堂 赤坂本店 — Restaurant in Tokyo

FAIR WARNING. My friend and I wanted to have an authentic BBQ experience so we walked in here on the 4th floor. The staff were not particularly friendly and we were served to our table at the corner of the restaurant.

We ordered a set of meat and a couple of other sides like pancake. They brought a portable gas stove over to our table. First drink aside, it took ages for us to get their attention for a second round.

The sides came first. We waited a long time for the meats to come. When it did, it was on a hotplate and was already cook. To our horror, the meats were cold and hard. Even the hotplate it was on was cold.

In the end, we didn't get to cook anything at all. The overall experience was bad. It made us feel like they thought they could get away with it because we were foreigners but in fact we were residents here for a long time.

An experience to forget. Don't let all the celebrity signatures on the wall fool you. Times change, so can people...

reserved for 8pm (Unagi-tabehodai) at 5pm, arrived at 19:55, but had ZERO services for 10 min. — reason for points 1, 1, 1: We wanna eat and pay for service, but all was UNABLE.

called the part timers more than 20 times, and no response XD.

If they were actually busy, late response is understandable. But, they laughed and talked each other hahahah. WE CALLED THEM MORE THAN 20 TIMES! XD

When we leaved due to horrible services, owner only said “got to be crazy”. never heard even a single “sorry.” Well, we were who went crazy XD.

ps. I clearly remember when we tried to reserve Ichikawa-branch first, but they said “We off today” in extremely bad attitude and just hang off the phone. Today, my friend let me know this: when we leave, the owner said “then, how about going other branch?”. ??????? What is happening in...

This place been around for ages and used to be much better. I recently came back (first time since the pandemic started) and find that the taste is not as good as before. The atmosphere still great, very izakaya, and drinks were great too. But if you are looking for a good Korean BBQ experience there are many other choices within walking distance around Akasaka.
