I highly recommend getting a reservation even on a Monday night. It's quite crowded with locals and foreigners, which is a pretty good sign because if you only see foreigners, watch out!!! That means it's a bit of a tourist trap.
They have a really nice set menu but you have to make a reservation to get that. I'm not sure if they had a menu in English but there were enough foreigners that they might have had some.
Every staff member was polite and courteous. The food was delicious. The chive filled meat rolls were super hard to eat... you just have to eat it all in one bite.
As you can imagine the sashimi here was really fresh. The sea urchin wasn't very good but everything else was nice enough. For an Izakaya, good.
Bagna cauda was a bit small but the sauce flavoring was good. The egg omelette roll was nice but I thought there was too much spicy cod roe sauce on top.
The dish that comes with your alcoholic drinks automatically was very seaweedy. We had thin udon noodles in a very very seaweedy dipping broth. It's not for people who don't like fishy and seaweedy taste.
The grilled eel on vinegar rice was a bit strange for me. I mean the eel was nice but I don't think it paired well with that soy sauce vinegar rice.

Read moreThis place is a hidden gem, we were on a layover before our flight back home, came across this quaint restaurant, though we didn't have a reservation, Syuto warmly invited us in to experience, i hope he is commended for his hospitality and effort to make us as comfortable as possible.
The food was 100% fresh with authentic flavors and every item had an extraordinary taste to it that makes this place shine! Its no wonder that by the time we left this establishment, it was already full-house so please make reservations prior visit.
I tried the giant oyster and it had made quite an impression that i would visit again if we find ourselves near Haneda airport. Its just a short train ride away.
Our visit was on 28th November, up till now I've not forgotten the experience. Truly appreciate the Japanese hospitality by the...
Read moreWe were staying at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel and went across the street to 48 fishing grounds. We had such an amazing experience from the beginning to the end! Everything was fresh and the flavours were amazing! The grilled Ayu was our favourite fish, the karaage was so crisp and juicy. The fried rice was flavourful and nice crisp from the hot stone bowl. The shelfish soup blew our minds. Basically, everything we ate was amazing! Our waiter Rei was so nice and helpful, very attentive to our needs. We will definitely come again when we visit Japan!!
