Shinagawa Prince Hotel Bowling Center — Local services in Tokyo

Conveniently located at the Annex Tower @ Shinagawa Prince Hotel, we visited after our family lunch at the Main Tower.

Lots of lanes and we were able to get our lane assigned right away. Great.

Three down-sides for me at this venue:

1. Gutter guard rails can only be either up or down for the whole group. We had our 7yo with us, so we had the guard rail up for adults as well. Many bowling alleys now have automated rail system where they come up and down automatically with each player, so.... Yea.
2. Other reviewers also have mentioned but we also had machine trouble a couple times and had to call the staff to our lane to fix the issue. It sometimes took a while for the next set of pins to be set up. The reset button is there, but not easy to find...
3. Bowling ball finger holes were so narrow even with the "L" marked balls. I usually take L-holes and I can fit all my fingers in, but today I couldn't fully fit my thumb and my middle and ring fingers would "pop" everytime I threw the ball.

It was fun with the family and all, but these things kind of brothered...

They don't display "game over" when the number of games you booked and already paid are over (as displayed in the guide in front of you). So when the game ends and the screen doesn't have an english menu, some people continue playing more games than booked and this will lead to pay extra money for each game you played you were not aware of it and this is...

Very organized and family friendly. If you are jet lagged and looking for something to do at 11 pm, this place is perfect too.

Very reasonable. For family of 4, it cost $40 for one round of game, including shoes rental.

Or if you are doing the afternoon game, bring the score card to restaurants in the hotel to get 10%...
