This little bar close to Ebisu station was one of the highlights of my time in Tokyo. Yes, I admit I did come from Instagram, but I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The secret entrance is a fun way to engage with the bar - and engage you must - as the venue is beautiful. Inside, the bar is spacious yet filling, with soft and delicate lighting tones that create an intimate and relaxed setting. Live vinyls being spun adds a unique touch to the experience - on our visit, the playlist was mainly composed of swing and jazz - and the beauty is that every visit is unique depending on the soundtrack. It was fantastic to see the DJ handpicking vinyls from the beautiful wall behind the bar. The drinks here are fantastic. We perused and sampled from the varied cocktail menu, which ranges from Japanese twists on old-time classics to cocktails that completely re-define the drinking experience. While we couldn’t take photos, one of my favourite cocktails was presented in a fragrance container on a tray with pearl necklaces and fancy earrings, and I had to pour the drink from the fragrance glass into the martini glass. Another cocktail transports you to the movies with its mix of sweet caramel and salty butter flavour, presented in a glass that resembles a popcorn container. A10 forces you to engage with itself, which I really enjoyed. The service here was second to none, our drinks arrived swiftly and our bartenders were fantastic and offered excellent recommendations. The Instagram hype is real. Definitely come here for a good time and an even better experience!

For the past several months I’ve been living in izakayas and sucking down some high quality highballs or comparing whisky notes at home. But I was in Tokyo for a week and of course I’m gonna swing by a speakeasy and cocktail bar! A10 plays both roles well and being seated at the bar was a treat! I had a drink from the menu, a Hakushu 12, and our mixologist’s own recipe. The Kekko-na Ote-mae-de from then menu was delicious and a great starter for me. I’m kind of a Ki No Bi snob so seeing a cocktail with it as the main ingredient was super, but having it with the A10 twist and an old Japanese style bowl/cup was awesome. The Hakushu was my main course and I slowly sipped it down as we enjoyed the DJ’s Xmas hits. Then for my dessert, I asked for a cocktail highlighted by Ki No Bai. Our dude said he can make a special Negroni. Say less! With the Ki No Bai, he also used a gin umeshu. Holy fuck was it the best drink ever! This is the place to be no matter if you’re a foreigner, visitor, local, or just someone who wants an incredible experience.

I managed to get a reservation at this speakeasy on a weekday, which seems to be the best bet given how popular it’s become online. The entrance is easy to miss—hidden behind a locker door—which adds a fun, low-key element without feeling overdone. Inside, the atmosphere is intimate and well thought out. The lighting is soft, and the vinyl-spinning DJ adds a nice touch. On the night I visited, the playlist was mostly jazz, which worked well with the overall vibe. I’ve heard the music varies by night, but I didn’t mind the mellow, classic sound. Cocktail-wise, most of the house drinks lean on the sweeter side, often with playful presentations—smoke, bubbles, and other little flourishes. There are a few stronger, spirit-forward options too. If none of those appeal, the servers are quick to offer classic cocktails, which I appreciated. Overall, it’s a nice spot to unwind. Not overly loud or crowded, and the ambiance is probably the best part. Worth a visit if you’re in the mood for something a bit different but still relaxed.

Very cool secret bar, very much so a speakeasy you would not recognize from the street, which made it an exciting and unique experience. The drinks were creative and well presented, but unfortunately we left the bar with a sour taste in our mouths when presented with the bill.

Upon sitting at the table, a list of rules is presented to you that the staff asks you to read and at the bottom, there is mention of a 1200yen service charge and a tax fee (which we accepted and had no problem with, until…) nowhere does it say, that these charges are a per person charge. We went under the assumption that the service charge and tax would be added once to the overall bill at the end. When we received the bill, we were shocked to discover that we were charged over $45 in fees, not including the already pricey nature of the drinks.

When we asked the manager for clarification on why the listed service charge and fee had no mention of it being a ‘per person’ charge, he admitted that we were right and that it should be specified on the menu. When we asked if due to the misleading nature of the bill, if they could remedy the situation, they very directly said “no”

I would recommend to go for a unique experience, but beware of secret fees that they don’t specify how they are charged and how many people will...

One of the best experiences I've been too. As a tourist coming to Japan in July 2024. I was recommended and had reserved a date and time ahead of flying to Tokyo. I would recommend all to visit their website and set a date and time a week or so prior to your flight to Tokyo. As an American tourist, I didn't have a difficult time communicating to the staff. Some knew enough English to help me. I also knew some Japanese to converse alittle. You enter through a hidden door that looks like a set of lockers, immediately on the right side of a Lawson store. Down the stairs through a dimly lit area, you open the door. Loud, chill vibing lounge music is leaking out. A DJ plays next to the bar where I was seated. Since my friend ditched me, I got to enjoy this place on my own. It was nice, bedt experience i had in tokyo. I tried a few different cocktails, chatted with the bartender and enjoyed the music. Everything was leaning towards an awesome experience at this speakeasy. My photos and vids show what I drank here. I won't give away the drink names or the ingredients in them. You just need to visit yourself and take it all in. I definitely want to visit this speakeasy again and...
