I was beyond excited to visit this restaurant as I am a huge Alice fan. However, I was a bit disappointed.
The theme was fabulous and the room looked great. It was a very small space, but the use of mirrors made it feel bigger. I was a little bummed to see the place so empty, yet we were set in the middle of the room instead of one of the more decorated booths, despite them being empty. The menu book was great as it was made up like a story book, however pages were torn and it wasn't kept up well.
The staff started out polite and helpful. Everyone was in costume. They provide bunny ears for each guest however they were raggedy looking and mine had wire sticking out of it. As the night progressed the staff got less and less attentive. We had trouble getting more drinks and had courses of food without a drink to go with it.
I have very few complaints about the food itself. My husband got one of the course menus and I did ala carte. I definitely think my eyes were too big for my stomach and I ordered a bit too much but it was (almost) all delicious. My pasta and dessert were meh, but everything else was great! The dishes were well themed and fun to look at. My biggest complaint is that the dishes came at weird times. They would bring a bunch of things, then you'd sit for a long time and get another bunch. There were often times when my husband or I had food while the other didn't. Luckily we shared a lot, but it would have been awkward if we didn't. At one point we sat for almost 30 minutes with no food. Overall our stay took a little over 2 hours which we had planned for but could have been better managed.
Due to the prices, poor service, and empty room, I recommend this place for drink and dessert. Or maybe some Appetizers, but not...
Read moreThematically, the restaurant is nicely decorated and the Alice attired waitress was attentive. The Mojitos were in a word, awful; mint liqueur does not make a Mojito and they were unfinishable. Likewise the virgin drink my son had literally tasted like a melted snow cone from a street vendor, also unfinishable. The food presentation was nicely done, but it did not make up for what were clearly Instant mashed potatoes, cold on the plate next to the nice looking but stringy roast beef. The grilled foie was good, but the rice was softly overcooked and too cheesy. The salmon pasta was over buttered and flavorless save the small smoked salmon florette. The meat and cheese appetizer plates, while pretty, were clearly selections from inexpensive store bought foods, not from the fancy meat or cheese section of the store. We couldn't bring ourselves to stay for dessert. Interestingly the restaurant was quite busy with Japanese and we were the only tourists there. We joked that they were all 'in' on the charade of appearance over quality, but hey, isn't that what wonderland...
Read more☕ My order: Parfait and Queen of Hearts Secret Garden 2930¥ Recommendation ❤️❤️❤️🤍🤍 - it is alright ✨ Reservation recommended Food 3/5 Whilst the presentation was beautiful, the food did not taste like anything other than just very sweet. I usually love sweet foods but this one was so sweet I was unable to finish it. Very unfortunate.
Drinks 5/5 The drink, Queen of Hearts secret was very good. It was a tad too sweet for my taste, so I had to wait until the ice melt. Afterwards it was delicious.
Atmosphere 4/5 The atmosphere was wonderful. Awesome interior with great love for detail. It felt like falling into the wonderland of Alice in Wonderland. However, for some reason the atmosphere felt a bit cold. Very professional, yes, but also very distant and only partly welcoming. Nonetheless, I loved the details and the overall idea and concept! Definitely a must go see for any fans of Alice in Wonderland!
Cleanliness 5/5 No complaints 😊
Service 5/5 The staff was very polite and even made time to take photos for us even though they seemed to be very busy....
