On a random Tuesday night, me and my wife stumbled across this bar while walking around Shinjuku. Upon entering the atmosphere transformed from noisy city sounds to forest like sounds, which was relaxing. It’s a narrow space and doesn’t have a lot of seats, which gave it a more intimate feeling. Now to the service.
We were initially served by a fellow who ended up speaking some English, which was nice as our Japanese isn’t anything at all. He ended up explaining the cocktail menu. Each menu section had different tastes to their drinks - sweet, strong, fruity, more obscure, etc. I ended up trying 3 drinks, but only took pictures of two and only remember one of their names completely. The one in the martini glass’ name involved marshmallows, I can’t remember the name of the one in the green glass, and the one I did not take a pic of was called Love Potion. I just want to say that all drinks I had were so unique and delicious. I never had drinks like this before. We were watching our server make them and the process was so intricate. Presentation for everything was top notch.
Two other servers, Haru and Sowa, ended up taking care of us throughout the night and conversing with us (in English) our entire time there. They were both so friendly, which made us really enjoy the place that much more. Haru ended up revealing the first guy who served us was the one who curated the menu. I didn’t catch his name, but he’s a master cocktail craftsman who was able to put together some very complex flavors, yet make all drinks work so well together.
All and all, this place was 5 stars for me due to the service, ambiance, and the actual drinks. I promise myself I am definitely coming back at least once more before I leave Tokyo. Big ups to the Haru, Sowa, and the rest of the staff for an...
Read moreDrinks are very normal, sometimes not good. This bar sometimes will act very rude to foreigners. I confirmed with my Japanese frds that we were acting normally, but they demamd us “to shut up” without adding any Japanese polite words. Someone laughed at me, which bartender lied to me explaining “he just playing his phone” (that guy did not look at his phone when laughing). One bartender violently pushed me and made me injured just because he thought I was drunk (although I was just asking them why that guy laughed at me). They cannot address the issue they caused but called the police trying to get me out in the end. The police cannot understand English and hence we cannot get the expected solution in the end. The bartender even charged me more than the listed price. (9xxx for just one round which is definitely wrong). The worst bar in Japan, never go, just try to make reservations to other bars nearby...
Read moreBest authentic craft cocktails in Tokyo with deep layered taste! I highly recommend the one called Let it Bee, it actually has insects in it (you don’t have to eat them though, it’s just for decoration lol), it has complex weird taste which I absolutely loved, you should try it! We went there a few times and tried probably half of the menu and every cocktail is a masterpiece! Other recommendations are 1984, lady Polynesia, summer citrus, love potion, and marshmallof puff!! (not exact name). The staff speaks English and is super friendly and nice, they have really personal approach to every person. Also, the bartender makes cocktails right in front of you if you are sitting at the bar and it is like a small performance, very impressive. The vibes is like you are sitting in the cool shadow of the trees in the woods listening to birds singing in almost complete darkness until your eyes get used to it....
