We were visiting from Australia and came here to play darts. The sign out the front specifically said "darts free until 9pm". When we started playing we were told it's ¥1100 to play. We brought up the sign and he shrugged. We thought maybe we'd made a mistake so we just nodded. When it came time to pay it actually came out as ¥2200 (¥1100 per person apparently). I was pretty pissed about this because we came in for drinks specifically because of the sign. I spoke to him via google translate and he said the sign is correct but it doesn't apply Fri/Sat. I thought that's pretty shady because it doesn't say that anywhere but thought fine, I'll just eat the cost. On the way out I see a notice in Japanese right at the entrance of the bar. I used google lens and the sign plainly said "darts free until 21:00 every day" in Japanese. I brought this back to him and he said "plans have changed". I blew up at this point and he agreed to refund me.
Really don't appreciate this kind of treatment. Bet anything the locals weren't privy to this "plan change". Careful if you're going here as a foreigner.
UPDATE: Turns out they didn't refund the money and intentionally charged me twice. This place is a complete tourist trap and the owners will intentionally deceive you to steal money from you. This place should be...
Read moreCame here with family because the reviews seemed like it was foreigner friendly. The staff seemed initially like they were going to sit us - as the place didn't seem too busy - until another Japanese group came up behind us, so then he translated to us saying another group had a booking. The group behind us saw the message and were about to leave, too.
If that was true that would have been fine, but he then called the other group back and whispered something in Japanese. This group proceeded to loudly declare in English that yes they do have a booking as they laughed and walked past us.
Just a horrible way to treat people and completely out of order, from both the staff and other patrons. We then witnessed another group of young foreigners also get turned away a few...
