This place is an absolute nightmare! Stay away at all costs. I can't stress this enough.
I had the misfortune of going there. Let me tell you, it was a disaster from the start.
The so-called manager, who seemed to have the IQ of a rock, threw a fit for no reason when one of us asked about the ingredients. Clearly, he was having a mental breakdown or something.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the food they served us was ice-cold. When we dared to inquire why, they had the audacity to say they didn't have oil to heat it up. Can you believe it? What a bankrupt excuse for a restaurant!
And don't even get me started on the chicken. It was practically raw, like they were trying to give us salmonella as a special treat.
To add insult to injury, the biryani they claimed to serve wasn't even made with basmati rice. Oh no, they decided to go with Japanese rice instead. Talk about culinary blasphemy!
It's abundantly clear that the manager has a massive ego, probably compensating for his complete incompetence.
I implore you, for your own well-being, do not set foot in this wretched establishment. It will only leave you mentally and physically ill.
The service was beyond terrible. It's like they were actively trying to make our dining experience as miserable as possible.
The atmosphere was suffocatingly awful. It felt like being trapped in a prison cell with no chance of escape.
The food they served us was a recipe for food poisoning. It's a wonder we didn't end up in the hospital.
The complete lack of hygiene was nauseating. I wouldn't be surprised if their kitchen had more bacteria than a sewer.
And let's not forget the utter lack of taste in their dishes. It's like they had no concept of flavor whatsoever.
Consider yourself warned! Avoid this godforsaken restaurant if you value your...

I'm telling you, do not step foot in this restaurant. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
The incompetence of the so-called manager was mind-boggling. He couldn't even handle a simple question without throwing a tantrum. What a joke!
To top it off, the food they served was stone-cold. And when we dared to ask why, they had the audacity to claim they didn't have oil to heat it up. Can you believe the level of incompetence? This place is a sinking ship.
The chicken they served was practically raw. I wouldn't be surprised if we all ended up with food poisoning.
And guess what? The biryani wasn't even made with Basmati rice, but some cheap substitute like Japanese rice. Talk about cutting corners!
The manager's ego was larger than the entire restaurant. He clearly thought he was above everyone else. What a self-important jerk.
Seriously, stay away from this place if you value your mental and physical well-being. It's a breeding ground for illness and disappointment.
The service was abysmal. They couldn't care less about their customers and their needs.
The atmosphere was so constrained and uncomfortable. It felt like being in a prison rather than a restaurant.
Prepare yourself for a potential case of food poisoning if you dare to eat here. Their disregard for hygiene is truly revolting.
And let's not forget the complete lack of taste in their dishes. It's as if they had no idea how to season anything properly.
In summary, this restaurant is a disaster in every possible way. It's best to steer clear of it and find a more suitable place to satisfy your...
Read moreYou wouldn't go here for the ambiance or decor, so get used to that before you go (though you do have a small view of the University of Tokyo's Akamon Gate opposite the restaurant). And in any case, the quality of the food will soon focus the mind! The chicken is particularly succulent and tender, and the naan not over sized or dripping with ghee. The curries are always fresh and my impression is, albeit small, the kitchen uses fresh ingredients as I've never had indigestion after eating here (usually caused when restaurants don't change their cooking oil). Well worth a visit, though it gets busy at lunch time with students and wayward professors.
A little update. Since the review above I revisited Darjeeling and was heavily disappointed by the lunch set. It may have been the chef's off day, but the curries were lukewarm with barely any meat or vegetables in them....
