Great coffee, and good food. I’ve been twice on two separate occasions, the latest time to try their famous French toast. They start serving them from 3pm. You basically write your name down on the list, write how many people, and how many French toasts you want. Came just before 3pm and was about 10th on the list. Waited an hour before we got to sit down and eat. Only a few tables inside. The toast itself was light and fluffy inside, served in a cast iron pan that was baked in the oven. Crust was crispy. Sweet overall but didn’t need the additional honey. You also must order one drink per person, so had the iced latte which was delicious. I think you can also get take away which I think I saw people carry out, otherwise their bakery goods also begins to sell out around...
Read moreVery disappointed with this cafe. Went for lunch today after reading good review about their artisan bakeries. However the waiter served our scone (the last one left) to another customer by mistake (and it’s really weird to see a customer eating something that she didn’t order). We ordered nicoise sandwich which was very dry and the bread didn’t taste artisan at all. Ice coffee was ok. When paying the bill, the cashier tried to charge for the scone despite the fact that the waiter had wrote a note that the order was cancelled. After going to many cafes in Tokyo, I observed that neighborhood cafe seems to have bother better service and food. I think this cafe is more...
Read moreI ordered cappuccino but they gave me latte. It’s fine if they admit their mistake and replace it but they insisted that it’s cappuccino.
So in the end there are two things I’m annoyed. The mistake was not acknowledged. When the drink was served, I was told it was a "caffè latte." At the time, I thought it might have been a slip of the tongue, so I just received it. But the drink clearly had less foam and tasted like a caffè latte, which made me question if it was indeed a cappuccino. When I asked about this, I was told, "This is definitely a caffè latte." Ironically, you yourself called it a caffè latte. So, I pointed out again that this was not a cappuccino. The response I received was, "Sorry, I misspoke. This is a cappuccino." Despite it clearly being a caffè latte, and even after admitting it was a caffè latte, the guy insisted until the end that it was a cappuccino.
The caffè latte itself wasn’t even good. I actually like caffè lattes, so I was willing to overlook the mistake and drink it. Given that the name of your establishment includes "espresso," I had high expectations, but the espresso seemed poorly extracted, and the drink tasted overly diluted with milk. It was far from the high-quality caffè latte I would expect from a place that takes pride in its offerings. In fact, I believe even a chain café serves better caffè lattes.
I don't think I will go back to this...
