This place is such a wonderful salon and so convenient for me — they offer many different services. The services I’ve used here are hair coloring bleach and semi-permanent coloring, cutting, and styling, and lash extensions. There are other services as well, like digital perming, and hair treatment and scalp services. They also have nail service here too, I haven’t used it yet, but I’ve met other customers in the salon with really nice nails! I plan to come and get my nails done one of these days. I definitely recommend this salon, and they speak English here. Making reservations is really easy because you can book online or just call the salon to see if they have an opening if it’s last minute. The staff here are all really nice and welcoming. Service is impeccable! While you have your hair done your offered a drink, coffee, a few different teas, or water. They have an iPad that they offer to customers and you can browse various online magazines to pass the time while doing your hair (things might have changed due to Covid-19). There’s a nice touch of a little plate with candy and snacks, you’ll get hungry if you’re there for a while, so it’s nice to have. The salon staff offers a massage after you get your hair washed, that’s one of the best parts about the salons in Japan. Salons in Tokyo are a dime a dozen, so it’s hard to decide on which salon to go to, but I was sold once I saw the staff’s work on Instagram. My stylist is Natsumi San and she has a team of junior stylists that have helped with my hair (Arisa, Kotoko, and Mayuko San). I’m sure everyone here is pretty talented though, I just haven’t worked with them. I’ve also had my lashes done here with Miku San, she does a great job consulting based on your face on which lashes you should have unless you have an idea of what you want. I’ve had the cat eye and the classic styled lashes. She does a great job of explaining the lash thickness and length so you have a better understanding of how things work—I’m always curious to know. Lastly, this salon has a point based system through LINE which is another motivator for me to keep coming back. You get a point for every ¥1000 spent and the points can be used towards discounts (like $5 off per ticket or free add ons for future services if you redeem your blue tickets. I’m really happy to have found a great salon that suits my many needs and if you have referrals you both win and get 10%off 😀. I love sharing a great find and this is sincerely just that!! 😍 I attached images of my hair color over the last couple of months for you to see the colors I’ve changed it to. I’ve done something different every time and I have no complaints. Hair is hair and I did think twice about dying it those colors, but I’m glad I did it because I have no regrets! Also, you can see my lash extensions and I’m pretty happy with it. Life is too short to worry about whether people are going to like it, if you like it then that’s all that matters! 🥰

I booked an appointment at Number 76 Tokyo with stylist Shin, expecting a professional result based on his bio and experience. Unfortunately, my visit was deeply disappointing and cost me around ¥70,000 for hair I did not want. I clearly requested a wolf cut while keeping my length, as well as red highlights — specifically as much red as possible in my hair. Shin did give me a cut that he called a “wolf cut,” but when I later visited Assort Hair Salon, they told me the cut was uneven, poorly executed, and not done to professional standards. They also mentioned I should have asked for a refund. I didn’t request one at the time because I was traveling across Japan for a month and didn’t have the time to return and complain — and I didn’t realize just how bad the cut was until Assort pointed it out. Regarding color, Shin told me he could not do the style in my reference photos but offered a “peek-a-boo” red option, which I agreed to. I repeated that I wanted as much red as possible. Instead, I left the salon with purple hair — a color I never requested. I also discovered later at Assort that my hair absolutely could achieve the red look I had originally asked for, proving Shin’s claim was incorrect. To make matters worse, I was charged for a “two color” appointment despite only receiving one color. I am half Japanese and speak Japanese, and I even had my Japanese mother available on the phone to help ensure there was no miscommunication. However, Shin refused to speak Japanese, insisting on English and repeatedly stating he was proficient, which ultimately created more communication issues. The end result was a hairstyle and color I never asked for, shorter hair despite my request to keep the length, and a bill that did not match the services received. This was not only disappointing but extremely unprofessional, especially for a high-end salon. I cannot recommend this salon based on my experience. Attached is 3 pics of my inspo but I wanted red. Black and red highlights. You can see at the end Assort was able to do red chunky highlights where Shin gave me uneven purple hair.

I don't really want to write a bad review, as I have seen on their instagram and youtube seems quite good. But I booked for a haircut and hair dye last month. My hair was very long, so it was a big experience for me, as I wanted to cut my hair really short.

I came in the salon, was served very quickly, filling out some online form, had my jacket and bag put away by the staff.

Then the hair stylist I booked came to serve me. She wasn't very friendly, this is the first time I have used the salon and first time this lady is going to cut my hair and dye, I thought she might introduce herself, or ask where I saw the salon, or why I booked her? but no questions, she did not even bring out the book of hair dye samples out until I asked for it, just seemed very can't be bothered, unfriendly and rushing around other people instead. There was not a lot of colours to choose from either, so many colours not available! The stylist just was not friendly, or try to help or give me any advice, she just stood there waiting for me to tell her what to do, which I did, but it just seemed like she was having a really bad day, and cannot be bothered to explain anything to me.

Anyway, she cut my hair really short, which I asked for but I think her skill of styling isn't very good. The cut is ok. The hair dye was the worst, it just looked really bad, completely not what I wanted, I did not want to make a big deal, so I did not say anything, but she can tell I was not happy with the colour, but didn't do anything about it, did not offer a re-dye, or give me any advice.

I just bought myself a new hair dye home kit, which I will do myself.

I am so disappointed with this salon. I booked weeks ahead, I am not from Japan so when I saw some youtubers channel, they seem good and speak english I thought to try it, but they are so unfriendly, they don't interact with you at all, I was not offered any drink either. Just so so disappointed, maybe I was over excited and expected more. Or maybe other hair stylists are better. I won't name the person here but I definitely won't...
