They seem to have reduced their prices. Three maidens man the ship. They are capable of mind and tall of body - their slim tall frames extend in height and sometimes bump off the ceiling. But the bumping is delicate; imperceptible to all but the most cunning eye. Thus, no one gets hurt. There are maidens everywhere - the three who run the game from the confident shelter of their counter space; and the manifold maidens who proliferate in the customer space fresh off an endless Omotesando conveyor belt. Some are lonely, some are salaried. Some are both lonely and salaried. Some get angry, begin to twitch. Recently jilted or some other emotional issue. The three managerial maidens who keep the canoe breezy are not lonely - they bandy together convivially and share many effortless, hapless jokes together outside of barista hours.
There are loud foreigners working in the IT start-up world. Their data is killing the world, but they don't care. Their mouths are loud and their garments are loud. Their fingers, ears and toes emit silent signals of capitalist aggression.
Jesting aside, this is a good muted space to sit and read. The coffee is delicately squeezed into the cup like fresh juice from the bosom of a rare, elegantly reared mango coconut. Other tricks can be done to the coffee too. No-one bothers you. Everything is very subdued - the dƩcor, the sitting, the customers, the background music. The future has arrived. I'm feeling...
Read moreBy far the best coffee i had in all of Tokyo on my Tokyo Coffee Hopping adventures, where i visited 10 highly rated Third Wave Coffee cafes over my 6 days in Tokyo. Lattest provided the most consistent coffee experience over the four Soy Lattes I had over two days. Medium-Hot frothed milk means the coffee is drinkable immediately. The roast they use is not acidic enough to split/curdle the soy milk. The staff are super friendly, and were able to speak enough English for me to explain a 'weak' coffee ('less espresso' with additional hand motions). The only category that Lattest doesn't top is the décor, which i have to give to The Roastery by Nozy Coffee in Cat Street. Overall the best coffee experience in Tokyo. Highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice cafe. The baristas/staff are very friendly and accomodating. There aren't too many seats here, it's more for people to sit alone and read or work. One bench area, one table, a huge table with bar stools centered in the middle, and the rest of the seating is for small groups (I'd say a group of 4people would overcrowd this space). And most importantly the coffee!! I've only tried their original blend, the Lattest, and the ice coffee, which were both so delicious. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu. They also had some scones and chocolate chip cookies. Every once in awhile they hold events for artists and people to work together and enjoy music and coffee....
