Really yummy! This is our 5th time in Tokyo. We came back to Mensho Burari 3x during this particular 10day stay. We’ve tried all three noodle options at Mensho Burari - as well as the gyoza.
The gyoza is decent but the highlight for us was the lighter, clearer soba noodle. I usually prefer pork based ramen or pork/chicken blend ramens which are NOT heavy in chicken taste or smell. The soba was a perfect choice and we had to return to enjoy it again.
The tsukemen and original chicken ramen broths are thicker, creamier in appearance and texture. The tsukemen and original chicken ramen are popular and will occasionally sell out by early evening so plan accordingly.
This is a quiet, little, tucked away shop - service is very quick and table turnover is quick as well. They also received a Michelin Star in...

This is a ramen shop I used to visit often when I lived in Nippori, and even now, I make a point to stop by whenever I’m passing through the area on my way to Narita Airport.
The chicken-based broth is exactly my type — light yet full of umami, and perfect for mixing with rice. The noodles have a nice, springy texture, and the chashu is tender and flavorful. Overall, it's a well-balanced and satisfying bowl of ramen.
I heard it was featured in the Michelin Guide once, though it seems it was only that one time. It may not feel like a place worth traveling long distances for, but if you're already in Nippori — especially if you're heading to or from Narita — I highly recommend giving it a try.
Back when I first started going, I rarely saw any Korean customers. But these days, it seems to have become popular among Korean travelers — I was surprised to see that the menu now includes Korean translations! While eating, I couldn't help but crave some kimchi… Honestly, with so many Korean visitors now, I hope they'll consider adding kimchi as a topping option. Please, seriously!
If you enjoy chicken-based ramen or like finishing your bowl with rice, this place is definitely worth...
Read moreTucked away in a back street near the station, is this small ramen shop, and on arriving here just after 7PM on a weekend, I was immediately seated, with a glass of water already placed at my intended table, after buying and passing over my meal ticket. I was hoping to order gyoza to accompany my tori-soba, but apparently they've indefinitely taken it off the menu, so I made do with an ajitsuke-tamago. The noodles were good, although I prefer mine slightly harder with a bit more chew. The egg was OK, I've had better, and I'm not so keen on how gel-like the yolk had become. The highlight is definitely the clear broth, not oily, nor busy or too strong, just pure, flavorful, chickeny...
