As we were famished from our long flight, we probably took longer than most to find the entrance. After seeing a billboard with the name of Cocktail Works directing us up a short & narrow stair case, we apprehensively opened the door to an uncertain future. Our worries were quickly quelled by the serene, ambient lofi jazz music and cozy mahoghany-esque furnishing blanketed by dim, candescent light. A bartender promptly and politely greeted and guided us to a table. He was very accommodating of my rudimentary Japanese and was diligent in communicating with us the best he could. Because of that, we felt very welcomed and at ease. All of the drinks were enjoyable with unique and balanced flavors. The drinks that mesmerized us the most were the fruit cocktails. We tried all of the ones listed on their blackboard and we would easily be happy reordering any of them. For a whole week before we departed home, we would always order, when available, the heavenly musk melon cocktail. When out of stock, the grapes were our next go to. On occasion, we enjoyed the pasta of the day, which was often red sauced pasta. Throughout our trip, we visited several high end cocktail bars in Tokyo and later Kyoto/Osaka, but when each night neared its conclusion, we always sought the fruit cocktails made by the two kind bartenders we saw every night. Though there were some nights where the occupancy was near max capacity, the bartenders always remained kind and playful the more we frequented the venue.
I would whole heartedly recommend Cocktail Works to anyone seeking a cozy respite from the bustling city to refresh themselves with some amazing...

There are far better places around the corner with better people behind the bar, and better drinks. PS, the cocktails were...
