Came here with a few friends and tried Hannari Tei Yeasu for the first time. Easily become a highlight of my Japan trip and the most memorable dining experiences I had in Tokyo! This Kyoto-style izakaya in Nihonbashi was both spacious and private and loved the food.

We picked the Matsu Course with the all-you-can-drink and from start to finish, the meal was a journey through Kyoto flavors. The presentation of every dish was thoughtful, and the pacing of the course was perfect! The waiters timed each dish perfectly and was quick and responsive to our order and drink refills.

Some standout dishes:

The seasonal appetizers were really refreshing, cucumber and radish salad in particular was a great way to start. The sashimi platter came with five kinds of fish super fresh, and as a sashimi lover this was my favorite appetizer and the salmon was amazing.

The Dengaku, took me by surprise as it was the first time ordering something like that but ended up being my second favorite dish and loved the miso glaze on top.l . The Wagyu tataki was delicious and seasoned to perfection as well, and the grilled chicken was juicy without being greasy. A personal favorite for many of us was the Yuba Tempura – the crispy batter around soft tofu skin, paired with matcha salt, was a perfect texture and flavor combo.

The duck shabu-shabu broth was yummy, we kept going back for sips and completely finished it quickly and a table favorite.

At the end we recieved a light matcha cake and was a great way to end the course.

Service was amazing throughout the entire dinner. Even with other guests, our space felt private, a rare balance. The atmosphere, quality of food, and great company made for a truly delightful night.

If you're curious about Kyoto cuisine, Hannaritai Yaesu is 100%...

I had an amazing Kyoto-style meal with a friend, and I have to say — it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. What made it even better was that every table was in a private room, creating a calm, cozy atmosphere ,and surprisingly, there was no extra charge for the private space. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The sashimi, which included salmon and tuna, was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The wagyu beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the Kyoto-style tofu dishes were rich, delicate, and full of flavor. One of the most memorable dishes was the matcha Denraku miso ,a unique twist with a deep, savory flavor that really stood out. We also had duck hot pot, which was light yet packed with umami ,a perfect balance that didn’t feel too heavy. And the wagyu mixed rice? It was dangerously good , I couldn’t stop eating it! Every bite made me want another. For dessert, we had cinnamon and red bean mochi. It had a really interesting texture — soft and chewy with a subtle sweetness and a hint of spice from the cinnamon. It was something I’ve never tried before, and I loved it. To top it all off, the drinks were just as impressive. The sake was smooth and easy to drink, pairing perfectly with the food. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The restaurant is located just a few minutes’ walk from Tokyo Station, which makes it super convenient for both locals and travelers. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone in Tokyo who wants to experience authentic Kyoto flavors without having to travel all the way to Kyoto. Whether you’re dining with friends, or even hosting someone from out of town, this place is a hidden gem worth...

We love izakaya but we also like private dining settings. We found this perfect combination in this restaurant! An added bonus, this was 5 minutes from Tokyo Station, which was great.

Our 10 course meal was ¥8000 that included all you can drink.

It started off with 3 traditional cold dish (sweet yam, ham/potato salad, veggie mix). They were all very delicious.

Then we were served an assorted sashimi that was very fresh. It included Tuna, Octopus, Salmon and other kinds of freshly prepared ingredients.

Next we were served with wagyu beef that was lightly seared. It was amazing because we get to taste the freshness of raw beef but still cooked.

Following up, a colorful dish of pastry topped with miso paste. It came in yellow and green color which was very pleasing to the eye and very delicious.

As we were enjoying all these wonderful food, the Duck Hotpot was ready. The aroma was amazing and the portion was more than enough for our party. It was great as well.

Next up was a fried tofu dish that was crispy yet juicy. The texture was one that we never had before and we enjoyed it.

Then we were served a juicy pan fried chicken that was just right.

A big bowl of rice topped with beef ends our main course.

To top off everything, a sweet pastry with what i assume as red bean completes our course.

To summarize, it was reasonable for such large amount of food, private room experience, and...
