Review as of September 2023
We went there for the all you can eat (AYCE) oyster menu but they don’t do it anymore, we were disappointed. We still stayed and we ordered the lunch menu set for 2 for 6578 yen (~66CAD).
Appetizers Salad: Decent salad. The vinaigrette is good but the crispy onion was not crispy at all. 6/10 Oyster soup: it tasted bonito soup but sweeter, more complex. 7/10
Seafood Platter (Cold) Mussels: 7/10 Shrimps (raw): 7/10 Snow crab claws: 7/10 Hyogo Murotsu Gakodaisho oysters (raw): Very good and very fresh. It has no fishy taste at all and plus it has a sweet taste 9/10 Hokkaido Senpoushi oysters (raw): very good too, it’s really creamy and meaty 8/10 Hokkaido Senpoushi oysters (raw) with tuna, salmon roes and wasabi: I felt that the wasabi was overpowering. 6/10
Appetizers #2 Ham with balsamic vinaigrette: nothing special 6/10 Shrimps with cocktail sauce: The shrimp was a little rubbery. 5/10
Oyster Platter (Hot) Deep fried oysters: it was overcooked and the tempura breading was really thick. 5/10 Grilled oysters: Nothing special. It was also overcooked. 5/10 Butter garlic grilled oysters: Good garlic butter taste but was overcooked. 6/10
Main Uni Carborna: This is not an authentic Carbonara. There was too much sauce, too runny. it should be more creamy. Also, they were using smoked ham instead of guanciale. I couldn’t taste much of the uni… They should put a few piece of uni. 6/10
Overall, for the price point, it was good. I would recommend to stay away from their cooked oysters and go ahead with...
Read moreHow about this one? I had a seafood platter with oysters and seafood, all super fresh and good quality. This and the other things we ordered deserved some good wine, and there is a reasonable variety of whites to choose from. The service and the atmosphere are what loses stars here. Wine is to be offered the right way: it must be shown to the customer, opened in their presence and given to one of the guest for tasting and acceptance, this is the least one can expect in a place where oysters are served. The staff here have no knowledge of this. Given that seafood involves an element of handling, some additional lemon to clean the hands and remove the smell of the seafood would be a great addition.
I was asked to order through an app that did not have the plate I wanted in the offering. When I enquired about the plate, a misunderstanding and language barriers resulted in the plate I had in mind to be served. Not a problem in this specific case as I did want to order it, but others may have fairly objected.
All the above said, hoping that the management will take note, I do recommend this place to those who love oyster and fresh seafood because of the quality and freshness of the food.
EDIT: originally rated 3 star, I added one star for the value for...
Read moreEmit Fishbar is a fantastic spot if you love seafood. The highlight for me was definitely the fresh oysters—briny, clean, and absolutely delicious. They were served at their peak and paired beautifully with a crisp drink, making for an excellent dining experience.
The restaurant has a modern, casual vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the food. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. Beyond oysters, the menu offers a variety of seafood options, but it’s the freshness and quality that really stand out here.
A great place in Tokyo to indulge in top-quality oysters and seafood—I’d happily...
