I had a friend call in to make a reservation for me for a weekday lunch course. I had been eyeing the All-You-Can-Eat lunch course for a while but never got a chance to go out and try it. So for our anniversary, I finally pulled the plug and made it my goal to eat here. Upon entering, they took our coats to hang up and led us to our seats. The place is small but they section it out in a way that makes the space they have look larger than it is. You are sat with other patrons as the chef will be cooking your wagyu right in front of you. First course was marinated trout which was such a great and fresh start. Second course was their pumpkin potage. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to like this soup as much as I did. It was so creamy and the little bits on the side of bowl added to the soup enhanced the sweetness. The third course was the teppanyaki of steamed A5 wagyu. It was cooked and served on a bed of onions. This was just an okay course to me, it was just getting me ready for the next course. Fourth, and honestly the best, course was the all-you-can-eat A5 Wagyu akami. Akami is the leaner portion of the meat but the meat is still incredibly tender and flavorful. It's served with raw onions on the side and 3 dipping options - fried garlic, crushed peppercorns, and a soy sauce-esque type of sauce. Any of these 3 dipping options were delicious with the wagyu. Did I mention it was all-you-can-eat? I know there is a time limit for the wagyu portion, but they aren't stingy at all with their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. portions. I ate 5 portions while my husband had 6 portions overall. For the lunch price, this is honestly an incredibly great deal. Fifth course was garlic fried rice and miso soup, nothing special after stuffing yourself with A5 wagyu though! Last course was the dessert course. For our desserts, we received vanilla ice cream that had some type of citrus sauce around it. It was served with green tea. I might be convincing my husband to book this restaurant for my birthday down the road as I want to go back ASAP! The price may be a bit high for some, but if you think about it, you're actually getting a pretty good deal if you have a healthy appetite. The course was ¥5,800 per person plus a seat charge and, I believe, a service charge. That came out to roughly ¥14,600 for 2 people who only drank water.

TLDR: Save your money and go elsewhere. Cheap cuts and not A5 quality. Don’t make the same mistake of ignoring the negative reviews and trying it yourself. REVIEW: My girlfriend and I went here for lunch after hearing about this place from Strictly Dumplings and the meat is NOT A5. Repeat, this place doesn’t serve A5 quality meat (See pictures). After being seated, we were served a couple appetizers for 30 minutes before getting to the “all you can eat” portion. By this, I mean the chef cooks meat for everyone at the table and individually cuts/plates them. As a result, due to the 2 hour time constriction, you only get through 5-6 servings of tiny meat portions before they bring you the final two dishes (See Menu). Regarding the meat quality, if you’re from the US, it’s comparable to beef fajitas from a Mexican joint or cheap skirt steak. Out of our 6 meat servings, we got one meat that was close to A5 quality. The rest were A2-A3. I’m not a big meat aficionado, but as a home cook who regularly buys meat, I’m familiar with marbling and how it’s suppose to look on A5 cuts. In sum, save your money and find a place that serves legit A5. I was pretty cynical reading all the negative reviews, but wish I followed their advice. DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY/TIME.

Review as of January 2023 Service 5/5 Food 3/5 We ordered the all you can eat eagyu lunch menu which cost 6380 yen per person(tax included). Although, please note that they will charge you 300 yen per person for a seat fee and a 10% for service charges. The service was impeccable (that explain why they charged the 10% lol) The food is decent at best. The lunch menu constitute of 6 courses (see pictures for details). Nothing was outstanding. The wagyu was just decent, I didn’t feel it was a A5… the reason is because they served cheap cuts: Eye round, top round and outside round (2 types). Good marbling on those cuts but far from melting in your mouth experience. The way how the all you can eat wagyu works is that they let you try each cuts (4). Then, if you want refill, they will choose the cut for you. Also, note that you only have 2 hours from the beginning to the end of the meal. You get your first piece of wagyu steak after around 30 min in and you only get 1 piece at the time. Also, they reserved about 30 min for dessert so you get around an hour to eat wagyu minus the time they need to cook the steak and serving order people. Conclusion: Not worth it for the price point. Maybe it would if you take the dinner menu.

Food for the price and quality: 1.5/5 The food was very mediocre and didn't stand out or was unique in anyway. And especially for the hefty price, this place was kind of a disappointment. The place mentioned that it serves A5 wagyu, but I am a bit unsure whether this is really the place to have the real and authentic experience for it.

Service and professionalism of the servers for a mid-high range restaurant: 2/5 For a restaurant that is in the mid-high scale range I would definitely have to say they would need to work more on this. The only servers who were great and tried their best to serve us was the young rookie waiter who also took the role in welcoming customers into the restaurant and the waitress with the ponytail, as they both kept smiling and tried to accomodate us. The one who had an attitude was the older waiter who may seem like a senior server or manager but was not acting like one at all. I brought my guests over with children and was misinformed how there is a nanny joining them so at the end it was a total of 7 people and I understand it was bad on my part to reserve a party of 6, but he came to our table with a very unpleasant and unfriendly attitude, giving off this "why did you bother coming here with kids and with the wrong number of people" attitude. I gave this review a 2 because at the end they accomodated with our mistakes and I thank them for that, but that's not how you make customers feel in the beginning, be polite and FRIENDLY even if you don't know English cause I was just as polite and FRIENDLY with you. If I was rude and unfriendly then treat me so, but I wasn't in the skightest. Also when I made the reservation, there were no options to include children or not, just the total number of people so if you wouldn't want to have children or have age limit restrictions in your restaurant, please implement that into your reservation system so I wouldn't bring guests here with kids, even smaller restaurants have this. One more thing to add is that when the bill came, at first the bill said that we ordered 13 courses when in actuality it's 7. It felt like they wanted to pay more at first for "giving them a hard time for bringing kids here", it was lucky that we double checked the bill and didn't just place the cards there without double checking the bill. How did you get 13 and 7 courses mixed up? Shame.

Atmosphere for a mid-high restaurant: 1/5 Even though it's regarder as a mid-high range restaurant the place was strangely small and clustered and only has 2 teppanyaki grills. The service just adds to the unpleasant atmosphere mostly.

Overall review: not coming back and not recommending this place. My advice is that you really need a deep check on the training and customer service there. Thank you for still serving us and taking care of...

I am a repeat customer as I dined at Ginza Steak 3x before. Used to be great. Now customer service had gone bad particularly in the branch, and reservation policies became unfavorable for customer with steep 100% cancellation fee. Might be the issue on the current manager of Ginza Honten who is not very helpful to the customer..He even kept on saying there are no sests avail for tomorrow night and did not bother to even check as when checking the reservation system via my mobile.. there are seats avail for tomorrow night. the Shibuya's branch manager was more accomodating when I went there last year. also I dined previously in this branch twice before the pandemic and they were both ok. I hate to leave a bad comment, as this is one of my favorite restaurant.. but I have to do a wake up call to their management that a repeat customer is not happy now with the custoner service treatment from the manager of this branch for them to do something about it and the new very rigid reservation cancellation policies..as it prevented me from booking the next day as the card will immediately be charged and unrefundable upon cancellation. So lost the potential repeat business due to very rigid cancellation policies. Tell me is the system is not anti consumer They don't accept walk ins, so you have no choice but to reserve using your credit card If you cancel within 24 hours, you are charged the whole amount of your order.. so what if you can't make it in the last minute?? Like you got sick? Or something important came up? They profited from your money without serving anything!! They are imitating the penalties of the hotel industry.. but this is a restaurant business, not hotel. The standard practice of a restaurant reservation system worldwide is you reserve without any guarantee or penalty.. and in case of no shows.. then accommodate the walk in's!!! That way, those who want to eat there without reservations can hope for a no show or last minute cancellations to get a table. But because of the current system.. even walk in is...
