My mother and I had a room for one week. From thursday to thursday and we liked our stay a lot. The hotel is just in the right place, because you have a Conbini, a supermarket, a big train station, lots of restaurants and a police station nearby. It's really good when you want to travel around Tokyo and visit different parts of it. The train station has many lines and the system is well done. It offers a bunch of JR-lines, the Ginza line and the Yurikamome line. Great for travel.
The room is a little small for European standarts, but since it is common practice in Japan and we are in Tokyo after all, the size was reasonable. It had a LOT of complementary items, which all fit perfectly. There was a clothing iron, a kettle, two cups for tea, a massage chair, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You were also able to get other stuff from the reception. They also have two bottles of water in the mini fridge when you arrive. We loved the shower and the AC, although it takes some time to figure out all the modes. We also loved the cleaning service, since they gave us new water bottles and got rid of the empty ones in our room (we only had two laying around). The window doesn't open.
The service is built upon the "self-explanatory" or "do it yourself" concept. The reception is basically just for check-in and greeting you in the morning when you walk to breakfast. Otherwise: Cleaning happens from 10am-2pm and the ladies are very nice. I had one conversation with a guy from the reception in Japanese, because we didn't know where the taxis were. He told me he couldn't call for a taxi, because taxis are already waiting outside to the left, when you walk out of the hotel. Really easy to get to. I recommend being able to speak conversational Japanese, or at least some basic sentences, otherwise you won't have a pleasent time talking to the receptionists, since some of them don't speak English. We also witnessed a fire alarm during our stay and the lady from the reception was able to speak English and with the help of the police handled the situation very well. It was a false alarm and we were all able to get back to our rooms. So a few speak a bit of English, and others don't. Gotta be either lucky or unlucky.
My mom and I loved the breakfast. It was amazing and we were excited for it every day. Highly recommend trying the Vietnamese restaurant outside of breakfast-time too.
Over-all we would go here again. But we missed having a wash salon, or just some kind of way to wash our clothing. Especially, since we stayed for...
Read moreMy recent stay was for 5 nights. My family and I truly enjoyed it. First off, the location is very good in the heart of Ginza, close to Shimbashi station, and a convenient Family Mart downstairs.
The reception desk at check in was extremely friendly and spoke English well. I had even requested a late check out, which costs and additional 1500 yen per hour per room (only of available so inquire early via email). I had two rooms: one double bed and one twin. The twin is bigger so it’s a little more expensive. But it has an actual bath tub in the shower stall, and a separate toilet with its own door. The twin beds are right next to each other, but the room and bathroom is bigger than the double bed. The double bed has only a small bathroom with a shower (hand wand and waterfall shower heads available). But the rooms were clean, the water pressure in the shower was great, and the massage chair was nice after a long day of walking. There’s also an electric kettle in the room that works really well, and a selection of coffees and tea bags downstairs that you can help yourself to.
A feature I liked was that you have to put a room key in the slot inside your room door to turn on the electricity. This affects the thermostat, toilet, lights, etc. I know people might find this inconvenient, but I think it’s a great way for this business to save on utilities when people aren’t in the room.
You also have your choice with the room cleaning. You use the magnets to tell them if you don’t want to have it cleaned, or if you just want them to do the bare minimum (like change the towels). You can leave your trash outside the door if you don’t want cleaning and just want them to take that away.
We added the breakfast to our reservation, and I’m glad we did. There was a good selection of Asian and western dishes. They also offer a choice of a bowl of rice noodles, that changes a little each day and resembles pho. It is included in the breakfast. Some of the dishes were the same each day, but there were minor changes so it wasn’t the exact same every day. So we filled ourselves up at the start of each day. It was easy, convenient, and delicious.
Check out was a breeze on the kiosk because you just need to insert your room key (extra keys will need to be surrendered to the front desk). I definitely recommend this hotel and will plan to stay here again when visiting Tokyo because of its value and my...
