Haidilao Huoguo - Ueno Shop — Restaurant in Tokyo

I made a reservation and I arrived few minutes earlier, and I was given some snacks while waiting to be guided to my seat.

Once we seated, we were asked if it's our first time or not. Then we were given apron to protect our clothes from the spill when we eat.

Ordered 4 types of soup base, you can arrange where you want the soup by dragging it to the boxes on the tablet. After all our orders came, the waiter seems to be impatients by keep checking on the tablet for something. After 1 hour passed by, he asked us if we want to order more food as it's last order, we said we ordered the dancing noodle and it's not here yet, he said okay, we assumed he sent it to kitchen to get it start so we waited more while he kept checking the tablet impatiently as if he's trying to chase us out. When the bill came, I checked it and asked another staff which looks like a manager, he said the dancing noodle isn't in the bill and he asked if we still wanted it or not, and we said not anymore. We did put it into order from the beginning, I guess the waiter deleted or cancelled that order without confirming with us. That was the only let down for us.

The food is quite good, but most importantly, the service and atmosphere are awesome.

The staff are super helpful and attentive; they will not only bring you your food, but they will make sure you have a great time. They have performers go around the restaurant in traditional opera attire regularly, interacting with guests and making children laugh. Birthdays are interesting..

The hot pot is great, and I'd most recommend this place for the environment and fun; best in groups!
