We stayed for a week, and it’s been absolutely amazing. The location is superb: whether you want to travel around or have a staycation, the place is perfect. The hotel is tucked away in a surprisingly quiet place, and it’s less than a minute away from all the noise you want.
Other hotels may have gym or attached restaurants, but this location is near to ueno park and a million eateries, so… I guess with all the saved space the rooms are bigger🧐
Traveling from the US, having a washer dryer and a Japanese style tatami cove in the hotel room is basically a dream come true for us. We hang dry our clothes over the tub most of the time, but on the checkout eve, having a dryer humming while you catch some sleep is a lifesaver. The dryer unit is very slow, of course, a few hours for a load, but it’s a miracle that it exists.
The staff is also super friendly 24/7. They all speak English, and all interactions with them including the check in/out process and towel change has been pleasant. I even got a little present at checkout since it’s my birthday, quite a surprise🤩
If you travel for more than a few days in Tokyo with one or more people looking for a quiet stay, I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
P.S. trash sorting is super fun after you get the idea. If you don’t, the staff is...
Read moreThe hotel boasts an excellent location, just a few minutes' walk from JR Ueno Station and Ueno-Hirokoji Subway Station. It's close to Ameyoko Market and the Matsuzakaya shopping center, with numerous restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The rooms feature a typical compact Japanese style—not large but with a well-planned layout. The fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, toaster, and various cooking utensils. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the toilet is independent, all arranged efficiently. Although daily housekeeping isn't provided, disposable mops, a washing machine, and dryer are available to help maintain basic cleanliness. The windows are small, but the ventilation system is excellent—we stayed for seven nights with absolutely no odor issues. The air conditioning provides gentle cooling, making for a comfortable stay. Staff were warm and friendly, communicating fluently in English. The lobby features a Nespresso machine, offering one complimentary coffee capsule per guest daily—a thoughtful touch. Complimentary wine tastings are also held during set hours on weekend evenings. The only drawback was occasional Wi-Fi instability. However, we used our own unlimited data SIM card, so it didn't significantly impact...
Read moreAmazing hotel experience. A quiet modern oasis! Highly recommend.
Great area, next to many train lines, countless food and shopping options, and a 10 minute walk from the park.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and stored our luggage for free on the day we checked out.
The room was huge compared to similar hotels/Airbnbs in Tokyo we've stayed in. Had a large couch and an eating area, and a full kitchen (though so much good food nearby, we didn't cook).
The shower was large, with great water pressure. One small quirk was the toilet was on the opposite side of the room as the shower & sink, not a big deal.
Bedding was comfy, and not ultra firm like many places in Japan.
Even though it's located in the busy Ueno district, our room was very quiet (and we were only on the 3rd floor). We barely heard anything.
Compared to other places we stayed, I'd say the price was a good deal for the quality & room size. The furnishings were very modern, the room looked even better and larger than in the photos.
I'd definitely stay here again in Tokyo, either here again or try out...
