Il Figo Ingordo — Restaurant in Tokyo

The food was amazing and the atmosphere was though you time-traveled to a small quaint shop in Rome, i'll give them that. But the service of one staff, who i'm assuming was the owner, was horrible and unwelcoming. Not to mention, I felt ripped off when i got the bill and there was an undisclosed price for the seating charge and 5000 glass of wine i wish i knew about.

The moment i stepped into the restaurant, i felt a negative vibe from one of the staff most likely because i was late for the reservation by 15 minutes but I did call them in advance saying i'd be late. This staffs temperament was unfriendly and unwelcoming as he sat us down. After my date ordered a drink, literally just a few minutes later my date wanted to change her drink order but the staff said it was too late... ridiculous. I didn't even order my drink yet and they said it was too late to change hers...

I looked up the price of wine online in advance and noticed that each glass was around 1200 to 1500 yen. When I arrived at the restaurant, they did not have a menu for wines by glass, only by the bottle. They brought a few bottles that we could get a glass of, which i assumed were 1200 - 1500. At the end of the night, the bill was outrageously high. I realized then that they charged me 1800 for seating and roughly 6000 for glasses of wine... (which were more than some of the bottles) The lack of transparency was annoying, no matter how 'authentic' they were trying to be.

I would never go back and although the food was amazing, I wouldn't say it's worth the bad service and...

We wanted to love this place. If you do not speak Japanese, you should reconsider going here.

They charged us $9 US per person for a "cover charge". It was disclosed on the Japanese menu, but not the English menu. Surprised us when we got the bill.

We asked for some olive oil, they gave us about 2 Tablespoons. Great! They charged us $5 US for this when we got the bill.

Their cc machine does not work on Visa cards. Two of us tried. Use Amex instead.

We didn't know they had fish or shellfish because they have a cart with the fresh ingredients of the day which they only bring out if you speak Japanese. We ordered shrimp, all three of us, because we didn't know they had fish...

Great hidden Italian restaurant located walking distance from Roppongi station. Great wine selection and the staff was very friendly. A little difficult to order as the menu items are sometimes only listing the ingredients and they ask how we would like it prepared.
