TLDR; more than 10 USD per single nigiri.
I got the omakase menu of 10,000 JPY. The cheapest option on the English menu was 5,000 JPY. But that was only six or so pieces. So I thought I'd splurge and go for the more expensive menu. Indeed, the quality was very good. But I was shocked when after 7 single nigiri pieces I got the tamago (egg) nigiri and then a few pieces of kappanori (cucumber role) and the chef said: 'finish'.
It was the first time in a Japanese restaurant I felt underserved. I ordered an uni, just because it is my favorite and I am always curious to taste one of good quality, and then the night was over. I was at the counter less than 40 minutes. For the price of a Michelin star dinner. I would know, I've had Michelin star dinners six times in Tokyo.
Yes, the sushi is very good, the atmosphere is nice, but the overall price is just too high. They basically charge 10 euro (10 USD) for a single piece of nigiri. I was really wondering how Japanese customers would evaluate this. Perhaps they get a different menu. I did notice the Japanese customers who came after me were served different things even before they had ordered.
All in all, really good food, but you have to be comfortable paying 10 euro for a single nigiri. And for that price, there might be better options available. For that price, I'd rather have another kaiseki meal in a...
Read moreBests sushi’s I’ve tasted. There is no way to deny it. Good chefs !! They speak English. That being said, the most expensive I’ve ever seen for sushis. I’ve never seen a restaurant in Tokyo that showed prices without taxes. 10% taxes ? It seems to me that the menu were designed for foreigners. 42240¥ for 2, with 2 menus (cheapest), 1 beer and 2 sake. The chef are really good, the rest of the staff not so good… we wanted water that never came… we didn’t ask for the bill and the old lady requested it on a paper she showed to our face at 9:10 for a...

It’s such enjoyable just watching them create their sushi. Sushi is of course supper delicious, with abundance feelings of love in it. English menu available. Very comfortable eating here even though I speak no Japanese. Must book when you are in Tokyo. 96 years of...
