Iām a huge fan of this place: a very classy cigar and jazz bar thatās connected with the Grand Hyatt. Not only do I love the venue, but if youāre staying at the GH then you can room charge and get the price of drinks, food, and cigars eligible for Hyatt points.
They do have a 2,000 yen cover charge, but the band plays around 20:30-23:30 with 20 minutes breaks between sets. I find this to be a great price for live 3 piece jazz band and a singer.
When ordering water, make sure to get tap, which is free, to avoid the high cost for still water (800 IIRC).
Iām not sure if itās the drink or the cigar, but one (or both) of them get you some nuts for free.
Drink-wise they have a lot of choices and an expansive list of whisky both Japanese and Scotch. Lagavulin 16 isnāt a bad call at 2000 yen, comparable to a major city bar.
Cigar-wise they have a decent, but not outstanding selection. Their cutters are a bit dull, if you are getting a thick gauge, I suggest maybe cutting it yourself, or better yet, bring your own cutter. The lady that helped me the first time absolutely had a terrible time cutting my large gauge cigar, cutting way too deep past the cap and nearly ruining the stick.
Along those lines, you can also bring your own cigars, thereās no cut fee for doing so. All cigar prices in Japan are regulated by the government so unless you are bringing your own from home, buy from Maduro (and charge to your room for those points!)
Their food is great, if a bit pricey. I had the bento box of 6, chocolate box, mixed nuts and mixed dried fruit over my visits. The chocolate in particular I thought had a nice presentation and a decent amount of very tasty treats, perfect for sharing on date night.
Overall I love this place, the vibes are great, the music, band and singer are amazing and sing without an accent, the food and drink are solid, cigars decent, and the ability to get hyatt points makes the higher price point level out a bit.
Go here for a classy, jazz...
Read moreI went to Maduro for a special dance evening organized by a friend, so it was a special menu. Harder to judge on this night but The food and service was good. The menu price („40,000) was a little expensive for its menu but the ambiance was great.
The precious time I went was great mood with good live music š¶ featuring great musicians but the place is always a little too Smoky in my opinion. It is probably because of Ray that the air conditioning is a little too cold for my liking.
The cocktails I hear are good and the different moods of the place are nice to enjoy I believe.
The place is a little difficult to find so it is better to go from Grand Hyatt hotel 4th floor as coming from the Roppongi station from Roppongi hill it is rather tricky to find the access.
Worth a visit for those who love good music but keep in mind itās a cigar bar as well and itās very smoky so your clothes needs a good dry cleaning after...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePerfect spot to unwind! I visited on a Thursday around 11 PM, and even at that hour, the place was already half fullāclearly a popular hangout. The menu boasts a wide selection of cigars and drinks, so thereās something for everyone. If you get hungry, they also serve tapas, which are perfect for snacking while you relax. The atmosphere is super chill and laid-back, making it a great place to kick back with friends or enjoy a quiet moment. Highly recommended for those looking for a cozy,...
