♥한국어 일본어,중국어를 할줄 모르는 관광객들에게는 절대로 추천하지 않고 싶다. 2층에 올라가서 메뉴판을 보고 이거 이거 주세요 라는 말을 영어로 했더니 중국인 종업원 얼굴 표정이 안좋았다. 이후 주류를 주문하라고 해서 다음 일정이 있어 술은 먹기 애매해 드링크는 주문하지 않겠다고 하였다. 그랬더니 갑자기 한숨 푹푹쉬었다. 우리는 당황해 영어로 술이나 음료 주문이 필수냐 물어봤더니 갑자기 영어로 "영어 안되!" 라고 했다. 중국어로 번역해서 술이나 음료 주문이 필수냐고 물어봤더니 그제서야 맞다고 종업원이 말했다. 이후 음식이 나올때까지 잔에 얼음과 음료를 채울때 잔소리를 크게 낸다거나, 설거지 거리를 쾅쾅 놓으면서 화난 표시를 손님에게 하고 눈치보게 만들었다. 기본 물 제공은 없었고 음식과 드링크 주문한것이 나왔다. 식사를 마친후, 음식이 짜서 물을 달라고 했다. (우리는 물은 기본제공이 아니라는것을 몰랐다.) 그랬더니 종업원이 물없어! no water!라고 했다. 2번째 거지취급이었다. 이후 식탁에서 일어나지도 않았는데 갑자기 그릇을 빨리 치워버리고 계산서를 줬다. 드링크 필수 주문에 대한 안내도 사전에 없었고 종업원이 메뉴판만 가져다 줬다. 그래서 우리는 필수 주문에 대한것을 알지 못했는데, 식당 방침이 있는데 일부러 드링크 주문 안하려 하는 돈없는 거지 취급을 당했다. 주인 아주머니는 친절하나 2층 종업원은 불친절하며 일본어나 중국어로 말하지 않고 영어로 주문하면 면전에 대고 꼽을 준다. (중국어와 영어 어순이 같아서 기본적인 쉬운영어는 알아들을텐데 왜 화를 내는지 의문이다.) 그리고 1인당 1음료 필수 주문이니까 꼭 주문하세요 헤매지 마시고 저처럼 거지, 진상취급 당하지 마세요 음식 양은 많으나 전반적으로 짜다. 기본 반찬(짜사이, 땅콩)이 제공되고 기본 차림 비용이 있다. 일본인들만 가세요.

I absolutely do not recommend this place to tourists who do not speak Japanese or Chinese. We went up to the second floor, looked at the menu, and ordered by saying “this and this please” in English. The Chinese staff member’s facial expression immediately turned sour. Afterwards, we were told to order alcohol. Since we had another schedule, we said we wouldn’t order drinks. The staff then sighed heavily. We were embarrassed and asked in English whether ordering alcohol or drinks was mandatory. Suddenly, he snapped, “No English!” Only after translating and asking in Chinese did the staff confirm that ordering a drink was indeed mandatory. While waiting for our food, the staff made loud noises when putting ice and drinks into glasses, and banged the dishes down as if showing anger, making us feel uncomfortable. There was no water provided by default. When the food and drinks we ordered finally came out, we finished the meal and, since the food was salty, asked for some water. (We didn’t know that water wasn’t provided by default.) The staff responded harshly, saying, “No water!” That was the second time we were treated like beggars. Even though we hadn’t stood up yet, they suddenly cleared our dishes and handed us the bill. There was no prior explanation about the mandatory drink order— the staff simply handed us a menu. So we didn’t know about it, yet were treated as if we were trying to avoid paying, like poor customers. The owner lady is kind, but the staff on the second floor is rude. If you try to order in English instead of Japanese or Chinese, they will openly show disdain (even though basic English is easy to understand given the similarity in word order with Chinese). It’s hard to understand why they were so angry. Please note: one drink per person is mandatory. Don’t hesitate and end up being treated poorly like us. The food portions are large, but overall quite salty. Some basic side dishes (pickled vegetables, peanuts) are provided, and there is a basic table charge. Only recommended for Japanese customers.

The upstairs waitress was short with us as soon as we got to the second floor. Despite being extremely friendly with the other guests, she was curt and rude to us. Probably because we didn’t speak perfect Japanese, but honestly who knows. Nobody should be treated so rudely for any reason so we left.
If you are a foreigner, try and sit downstairs only with the friendly lady. Or better yet, go to one of the many nice restaurants...

飯田橋の裏手。賑やかな通りから少し外れた場所に、四川料理の“本気”が隠れている。 その名も「麻辣先生」。テレビ・雑誌でもたびたび紹介される、四川現地の味に徹底してこだわる専門店だ。
今回の主役は「元祖 火焔山香草麻婆豆腐(¥880)」。 漢源麻山椒と15種の薬膳スパイス、そこに無料トッピングの香草が重なると、口内は一気に四川の山間へワープするような感覚になる。
続いていただいたのは、 ・「本場四川 痺れる麻辣麺」 ・「成都名物 牛タンとハチノスのスパイス和え」 ・「茄子の四川山椒揚げ」 いずれも香り・辛味・痺れのバランスが絶妙で、ただ辛いだけではない“滋味深さ”がある。 火と油と香辛料が交差するような、重層的な味わいがたまらない。
合間にいただく「シャキシャキ豆苗のガーリック炒め」は、火入れが見事。 口の中をリセットしながらも、食欲をさらに煽ってくる。 今回はノンアルでの会食だったが、香り高いジャスミン茶が全体をまとめ上げてくれた。
四川の“技”と“心意気”を一皿ごとに感じる時間だった。 酒がなくても、余韻は十分に酔える。
