I was actually on my way to another restaurant waiting for the walk signal to turn green when I smelled the aromatics coming from this place. The other place didn’t seem too appetizing so I turned around and headed back to Menya 33 and I’m so glad that I did.
I got the duck and clam ramen and it was so good I could cry. Such a flavorful but light broth and every piece of meat was cooked to perfection. Duck in ramen is probably my new favorite type of ramen now. Also I think that’s yuzu in the clam shell and it gave the dish a nice little pop of flavor throughout. Noodles are on the thicker side (yum) and slightly firm (the best). I wish I slurped at higher decibel but I was too shy 👉🏻👈🏻
I have a week left here in Jimbocho and I think I might eat at this place every day until I leave. Do yourself a favor and try...
Read moreMenya 33 has quite an extensive menu – tsukemen, mazesoba, rich tonkotsu broth ramen and other seasonal specials. In my opinion, the best item on their menu is the chicken broth (shoyu or shio) ramen. The chicken ramen soup is rich, take a spoonful of the soup and you can definitely taste the essence of whole chickens.
Clear yet full of collagen to give it a full body. A whole host of toppings make this a satisfying meal – tender chicken slices, pork charsiu, chicken meatball, menma, soft boiled egg and various vegetables. Definitely one of the best chicken ramen (shio or shoyu) that can be found in Tokyo. If you are a fan of lighter ramen, it is worth trekking out to Menya 33 in Jinbocho.
I have been told that the pork shabu tomato shabu tsukemen (summer only) is most...

The chicken leg was a nice touch and I like the bamboo shoots as they had a nice crunchy bite. The noodles tasted more like pasta than ramen noodles. I would have liked the soup to be more interesting with such an interesting name. The taste was not bad, so it deserves an...
